Hey guys! So, I apologize for my absence and the extreme lack of updates! I've been really busy these past few weeks due to school work so I didn't have enough time to publish a few chapters T-T but my schedule is a little free now so here you go :)

////Chapter 46////

"Chaeyoung...?" Seo-Yeon managed to mumble out, her lips quivering. Out of all the years that she's waited, she finally saw her daughter standing, willingly, in front of her. Yes, Seo-Yeon saw her beforehand but they were drinking. It's not as sincere, not real, it was advice here and there and then Chaeyoung stood up and left.

This. This was different.

"I-" Chaeyoung breathed in. She was afraid. Afraid to hear the truth, something she's been running from for all these years. "I came here to listen to you." She gulped, what would her mother say? Chaeyoung was sure she'll feel a hard slap run across her face. She was sure that Seo-Yeon would scold her for being ignorant, Chaeyoung was sure that'll she hear curse words shoot from Seo-Yeon's mouth.

But then what is this? Chaeyoung felt Seo-yeon's arms wrap around her, similar to that of a motherly embrace. Something Chaeyoung hasn't felt in a long time. She stood still, shocked. Her arms were tense and so was her heart. "I'm sorry." Is all Chaeyoung muttered, melting in the embrace of her mother.

Seo-Yeon backed away, her fingers wrapped around Chaeyoung's arm in a way that expressed her fear of her daughter leaving again. Chaeyoung cleared her throat, "Please-f-forgive me."

"Why?" Seo-Yeon spoke, confusion mixed with her tone of voice. "Why are you apologizing to me?" She sighed, gesturing Chaeyoung to sit down on the leather couch.

"I-" Chaeyoung's breath shook, "-I just feel like I need to. I was ignorant and a-an asshole-"

Seo-Yeon cleared her throat, glancing at Chaeyoung who's mouth let out a curse, "That's the only thing you should be sorry for. Language." Seo-yeon's voice was sharper than it was before and Chaeyoung actually shivered when she heard that tone. She was about to mutter out a line of sorry's but Seo-yeon just chuckled.

"I'm joking." The CEO smiled, "So, where do you want me to start?" She sat down, her slender fingers playing with the hem of her shirt. It was obvious that she was nervous, I mean who wouldn't be? Seo-yeon was talking to her daughter, whom she avoided for years due to the guilt that ate her.

Chaeyoung breathed in, "I want to hear why you left."

Their conversation went on for hours, most of which Chaeyoung spent her time listening. Her mother's story was long, and the details in it were things that were unknown to Chaeyoung. Even her own father never told her about the wonders that Seo-yeon had done.

Seo-yeon had to leave their household due to the constant fighting between her and her husband; Chaeyoung's father. Chaeyoung understood, after all, she remembered the many arguments two of her parents indulged in when she was 'sleeping.'

However, there was one detail that Chaeyoung found out. One that she will surely make her tell her own father and may even consider scolding him for being a selfish prick; all the words are those belonging to Chaeyoung. Out of all the years, Chaeyoung always thought that her mother turned her back on her own family for the sake of being with another man.

-In reality, her father was the sole reason for the absence of Seo-yeon. The way he treated her; persisted on fear, scolded her for such little things, acted like he was on top, belittled Seo-yeon when she was climbing up the ladder of success. All that because he was envious of her mother's talent-
