////Chapter 36////
Chaeyoung sat still on her couch, uneaten noodles laying cold in front of her. Noodles that were provided by her mother when they had come home late yesterday. Chaeyoung's eyes just stared at it, unbothered by the screams of her stomach, yearning for noodles.
She hadn't eaten anything for the past 18 hours. Well, she did drink soju, so does that count? Chaeyoung didn't even care about how many bottles she finished, all she was focused on were the words that her mother had said.
The opposite of hatred.
What else could that be.
But why would she even feel that way.
Towards me?
Chaeyoung groaned, standing up, her head spinning for a few seconds. She hasn't slept either, so her deprived sleep plus her nack for drinking alcohol was killing her slowly. In a figurative way. She would've called Yeri, but Chaeyoung figured she'll only get an earful of lessons.
"Tomorrow classes start and Mina still didn't talk to me." Chaeyoung grumbled, pouring herself a cup of warm water. If it weren't for strong tolerance towards soju, she probably would've been dead asleep on the floor.
She rested her arms on the counter, her cheeks a little red. Either from the alcohol she's been drinking or the beating of her heart. Chaeyoung didn't know what to do, how to even address the situation. She placed her had over her chest, clutching her shirt, feeling her heart rate speed up as she reminisces Mina's smile. Her chiseled face.
The way Mina's eyes glistened in the sunlight, even in the moonlight. The way her gummy smile would add years to Chaeyoung's life. The cub remembered all of it, and it seemed as if all of what she felt from the moments piled up.
Chaeyoung sighed, chuckling, digging her face into the palm of her hands. She felt it. Even before this had happened. She felt her heart race, but she always ignored it. Chaeyoung always put it aside as some kind of emotion that didn't matter.
But turns out it'll bite her right back as she now realizes the true emotion. Chaeyoung tossed the paper cup into the trash, grabbing her coat, and her keys, running out of her house. She huffed, ignoring the fact that her surroundings started to spin. She didn't give a crap if she even fainted.
As long as she finds Mina. This'll be ok.
"I'll go to Sana first." Chaeyoung mumbled, taking a sharp right, almost tripping over a few pebbles. As soon as she got to the doorstep, she hit her fists against the wooden door, her fists going a little red.
The door opened, quickly, almost to quickly that if Chaeyoung didn't have fast reflexes, Sana probably wouldn't gotten an ugly bruise on her cheek. "Chaeyoung?"
"Where's Mina." Chaeyoung panted, her sentences cutting as she huffed for more air.
"In one of the classes-" Sana grabbed Chaeyoung's arm, hoping it'll make the cub stable, "Are you ok? Did something happen-?"
"I need to talk to her, now." Chaeyoung answered, her voice desperate.
"Oh. I think she's with Seungwoo and Momo right now." Sana explained, her voice was innocent. Chaeyoung's eyes widened, her knees going weak, she shook away the thought.
"Wh-Why?"
"They have a project together." Sana realized, smiling sympathetically, her fingers crazed against Chaeyoung's cheeks, "Don't worry. Her feelings for you are to strong."
Chaeyoung's cheeks flushed red, dropping to the small step in front of the doorway. "I'm stupid." She muttered, running her fingers through her brown hair.
"Yup, you are." Sana chuckled, sitting beside the cub. Chaeyoung chuckled bitterly, agreeing to the older japanese woman defeatedly. "It was getting pretty obvious. The way Mina talked to you, about you, and the way she looked at you. The way she worried about you, when she smiled at you. Everything was obvious." Sana explained.
Chaeyoung groaned, "Why am I so blind."
Sana hummed, "Do you feel the same, Chaeyoung?" She met the cub's eyes, her cheeks red, "About Mina?"
Chaeyoung looked away, shyly, "At first..I didn't know. I felt it, at some point, I did. But I brushed it off. I'm not use to feeling that, I'm not used to having this funny feel in my stomach. And then, my mother told me. That's when I realized-" Chaeyoung chuckled, "-Both my stupidity and what I felt."
"So, what are you gonna do now?" Sana suggested, smiling innocently at Chaeyoung. The latter shrugging, dipping her face into the palm of her hands.
"I-I don't know." Chaeyoung muttered, "She probably doesn't even want to talk to me right now and If I do talk to Mina, what the hell am I gonna say to her?" She whined.
Sana rubbed Chaeyoung's back, "Don't let your mind do all the talking. Listen to me-" The former grabbed Chaeyoung's hand, holding it supportively, "-Don't stop. Don't hesitate, because if you do, you might lose her. So do what you think is right."
Chaeyoung sighed, shaking her head, she stood up, clenching her fists, "Thanks Sana, maybe i'll give it a try. But if I come back crying, don't be surprised." Chaeyoung chuckled, starting off from a jog then sprinting.
Sana stood up, smiling like a proud mom. She watched as Chaeyoung continued to sprint across the road, her legs taking her to the destination she desired. Soon enough Chaeyoung's figure faded into the crowd.
"Go get her, Tiger-"
"Listen to your heart."
