song:
banana pancakes - jack johnson

my chest had the feeling of butterflies swarming it each second i told myself i can now finally just kiss her.

music played through out the car, petals feet tapping on the floor of the vehicle as she sang along.

her loud laughs echoed along with the song.

the smile that came across my lips was compelling. there was something about all of this that seemed so literally perfect.

never have i ever thought the word 'perfect' could actually describe something. because everything has its flaws.

but i guess it's knowing about the flaws that makes something or even someone so perfect.

you've got to understand and see the flaws of a situation or a person to feel as if the word perfect is the way to describe everything happening.

i couldn't help but join her sing loudly as if there were no one in the world who could judge us.

i had already told her the way she makes me feel when she wears yellow.

it brings a smile to my face without even knowing it.

i don't even know the reason as to why it makes me feel so.. ecstatic. just the sight of yellow hugging her body was exciting.

i wonder if the reason for her name being petal was because of a yellow flower. i could see it, the soft petal of a sunflower that stands tall over all the rest.

simple yet so unique.

"what's going on.." petal leans forward, her hand gripped over the seat belt that clicked over her body.

i let the smooth palm of mine turn the steering wheel as speed died down while i parked up in the driveway.

grayson and nadia were outside as if they knew we were going to be back by now.

they had this cheeky smile on their face, hands rubbing together from the cool crisp air outside.

although i had a warmth wrapped around my body from being inside the car, i already know how cool it would be getting outside.

it was summer, but the air still crept with a cold blanket that loved to bring goosebumps over every part of your skin.

thinking about all of this, my hand travelled down to click my belt off. as the seat belt removed itself from me, my back pushed itself off the back of the drivers seat.

my arms didn't struggle to remove my large jacket before my fee hand crept from petals shoulder to the small of her back; pushing her forward.

i squeeze the large jacket if mine around her body, her soft cheeks still having a rosy tint to them. her eyes catch mine, smiling as a 'thank you' for the gesture.

she follows my actions by exiting the car, nadias footsteps that came running towards us easily heard. grayson sighed out in relief, his eyes reading through mine. it was as if the joy in my heart was so consuming, that my own brother only had to look at me for a second to know.
