Characters strengths can be shown publicly while his weaknesses should be kept to himself in secret, except when exposed.
New character
Introduce a new character in a new chapter. His achievements and intentions first not his physical appearance.
Work
Characters should always be prepared for work in each chapter. No character should be sluggish. If a character's actions are not needed or relevant in a chapter, he shouldn't be mentioned at all.
Decision making
Quick decision making from the characters. Characters should not take years to make one decision. It's a book, decision making can be hastened to keep the story flowing.
