CASSUS FETT FELT AS THOUGH her chest was closing in on itself as she looked at Kylo Ren. Her expression likely mirrored his: nothing but realization and dread. The Hold was taking off; their means of escape was gone.

This was her fault. If she had not dueled Sol, they would have made it to the cargo hold. But her fingers still gripped the Darksaber tightly; her hand stung slightly as the sharp edges of the handle dug into her skin. She could not say that she regretted getting her weapon back, though.

Should I? she wondered, but pushed the question to the back of her mind.

"We need to find another way off this ship," Ren said, drawing Cassus's attention back. He looked to Meri. "Do you know of any other way off?"

The Twi'lek paused for a long moment, her eyes boring into the wall.

She has to know something, Cassus thought. Meri had been on this ship for a long time, and the lack of guards had to open up more options. There had to be something.

Meri's eyes refocused on the pair in front of her. "The loading ships. They're used to transport prisoners. They're not big and aren't made to fly long distances, but they'll get us back to Tatooine...if we can get to them before we're too far away."

Soon, Cassus found herself racing down the halls of the Hold with Kylo at her side. The pair was to secure a loading ship while Meri found Greer.

Any prisoners that stood in their way quickly stepped aside for the foreboding pair, and the guards that were left were too occupied with more violent rioters to worry about a few runners. Their path remained fairly clear...until they reached a locked door.

After the wires shocked her fingers for the third time without opening the door, Cassus hissed and hit the control board. "Where's that codebreaker when you need him?" she muttered.

With a huff, she straightened and slung the blaster off of her shoulder. She felt Ren shift away as she pointed it at the controls. "Do you really think that will work?" he asked.

"I don't know," she said offhandedly, "We'll see."

Before she could pull the trigger the door slid open, startling the two. A wide-eyed Greer looked up at them from where she was crouched beside the door, a pair of twisted wires in her hands. Meri stood by her side with a blaster ready.

The frightened look on Greer's dark face immediately brightened. "Hey!" she greeted before her curious gaze moved to Ren, "Is this your partner?"

Ignoring the girl's odd tone, Cassus glanced at the man standing stiffly beside her. "Yes," she said carefully, "We were Special Forces together."
