Out of all the stories, this is the one that was hard to write for me and I didn't think I do any justice.
At some point, I wanted to scrap everything and start over again. Anyway here are the reason why I kinda didn't like the way the story goes:
- There's no in depth conflict that happened
- The characters motives were weak
- I think I made a lot of hide and seek moments in this book
Since a lot of people enjoyed the story, I decided not to scrap anymore and end it the way I wanted to, their sort of 'break-up' before Jin's military enlistment.
This works on the premise that Jin thinks a lot about his actions. The story was inspired by the way he always makes other laugh because seeing people happy makes him happy.
So part of the plot is the fact that the girl she develops feelings for tends to have a hard time because of him instead of making her happy the way he intends to.
I think I read something about a story(manga I can't remember) wherein the girl was chasing a guy (guy no1) who was hang up with another girl so he wasn't sure of his feelings with the girl so the girl hooked up with another guy (guy no. 2) but eventually broke up with guy no. 2 because she was so sure of her feelings for guy no. 1.
I don't think real life goes well as that one. Eventually, you will begin to resent the fact that guy no. 1 kept you hanging and you will make it guy no. 2 work because you don't want to admit that it wasn't really that easy to admit that you were wrong, it wasn't easy to let go of your feelings.
Hence the premise of "Ready for Love". If you look for quotes(the ones in the conversation in the synopsis), being ready for love is subjective. It works on a case to case basis and there's no exact path for you to follow.
I wanted them to have a reverse experience. Realizing that they're both correct at the end and have them understood each other's action:
- Jaehee to finally understand that Seokjin just doesn't want to half-heartedly decide on her because he's still unsure of his feelings for Hyuna by experiencing the same things with Ken
- Jin to realize the hell that Jaehee went through because it took him longer to decide only to confirm what he initially felt, he loves Jaehee more than his feelings for Hyuna but then Jaehee was then ready to move on with Ken.
I also wanted to do a story wherein the girl is a big fan of them but eventually realizing that the personalities they portray on screen even if it's sincere is just a tip of the ice berg compared to who they really are.
Yes, Seokjin liked Jiwon. So does Hobi. RM is a bit attracted to her but unlike the other two. They respect Taehyung enough though not go for her. Not that they have a chance.
This also discusses the impact of some members. Without Jin, tensions are more frequent. Without RM, they tend to bottle up their problems. Without Hobi, everything is melancholic.
I put this in a three part grouping.
— Her Story: How Jaehee became attracted to Jin and then
— His Story: How Jin ruined it because he became confused about his feelings and interpret every little thing Jaehee did.
— Their Story: Eventually how the two fell apart.
This is the only story wherein they got together during Jungkook's Wedding and not before.
Changes:
Originally, when Jaehee visited Jin and then Hyuna came in, Jungkook was the one at home to scold Jaehee. With the previous books, Jungkook would've punched Seokjin for doing that so I change it to Taehyung.
Ken is not working in Japan but in Seoul. If Ken is available, Seokjin would probably leave Jaehee alone. Jin originally thought that there's symbiotic relationship between them and that's why he kept going to her apartment. How they both wanted some company without having to deal with relationship.
Parts that didn't make the cut:
(1) There was supposed to be a part wherein Jin becomes so frustrated about her feelings with Jaehee that he decides to watch porn instead only to come accross the amateur video of Jaehee in London. It didn't fit anywhere. I didn't take out the initial context clues wherein Ken was teasing Jaehee about the thing that she wants to take down from the internet.
It was supposed to be a comedic relief wherein Jaehee didn't knew about it but Ken did. It was supposed to trigger a fight between them that would make Ken confess because Jaehee got mad at him for not telling her and not taking down the videos.
(2) Jaehee's brother was supposed to be Hyuna's boyfriend. That didn't went well with the fact that Jaehee treasures her family the most. She would've hated Jin if he stoles her brother's happiness.
(3) Jiwon's dad first met Jaehee's mom. She was supposed to be the best friend of Jiwon's mother only when they hang out, Miguel fell in love with Jaeeun (JW's MT) and Hera (JH's MT) ended up with Jaeeun's brother. This is why Hera resents her so much. I didn't wrote it because it would make Jaehee's mother so evil.
The Restroom Sexcapade:
I'm sorry. I have no reasons. 😂😂😂
Plan G:
There's a long conversation initially between Jin and Namjoon wherein Jin has an internal monologue of waiting for Namjoon to say something about Jaehee so he could ask about her but he ran out of topic and so he asked about Plan G instead.
This will be a part of Namjoon's Jungkook's Wedding as well, an internal monologue about waiting for Jin to ask about Jaehee so he could convince her to talk to her but eventually let down when he asked about Plan G so he decided to bring it up. But their books are not in sequence and the chapter was already long so I cut it out.
By this time, I was thinking of doing The End Game already so Yes Jaehee got pregnant.
