Her

You looked at your desk and saw all the papers you were reviewing are missing. You didn't received any email for the day and yet there was one talking about a missing shipment, you were only added by mistake.

You stood up and quickly went to Jessie's office. She's cutting you off because you're leaving.

"Jessie!" You said as you shut the door close.

You were surprised by the state she's in. She's wearing sunglasses inside the office. Not even offering you a glance as she quickly shifts between her laptop and the documents you were looking for. When she finally saw you, she signals you to give her a minute as she calls someone over the phone... the missing shipment.

Even after a couple of months on hiatus, she could still manage to pull everything off. She could do this alone but she's struggling. After all, you both split the job she is doing single handedly right now.

"Yes?"

"Why are you wearing sunglasses inside your office?"

"It's sunny." She smiled.

"You can pull down the blinds." I said.

"I like the sun." She said.

"Jessie... come on, what's wrong?"

Jessie's lips quiver as she took off her sunglass. Her eyes are swollen. "Yoongi and I fought yesterday, I kicked him out." She said as she cried.

"Why?" I asked as I rubbed her back.

"He's being an asshole." She said. "He wants me to sell the company because he said I'll be stressed if I'm alone."

I wanted to think this is just a ploy to make me stay but she was too miserable for this to be fake. "Jessie... I— I wish I could."

"Oh... no. This is not about you. I mean, I won't hold you back. Don't feel guilty. This is about us. He's thinks I'm fragile. I wanted to prove to his I can do it all without you but— but— I'm struggling. I'm thinking he's right."

"Your company got twice fold in size after the money Jiwon gave. Jessie, you have your AVPs to do all the job for you. Just distribute it to them. Don't stress yourself out."

Jessie hugged me. "Can I talk to you as a friend?"

"Sure."

"I wish you're not leaving." Jessie said in a whimper. "— but I don't want you to be miserable, too."

You wanted to tell her that even though that's the case, you are still miserable now.

Ken and you tried. Thrice to be exact.

Nothing. Whenever you get to second base. You withdraw. Then he asked you if you ever been intimate with Jin and you couldn't look him in the eye.

He still said he would wait. He left for Japan and told me he'll be back again the following week to help me with the stuff I'm bringing.

Before he left, he told me that he love me and hopes that I wouldn't change my mind.

I told him I wouldn't.

My fingers intertwined with my hair as I thought about what I said to Ken. Maybe I shouldn't think about it, if I think about it too much, I might change my mind.

I went home and saw what could change my mind. I might change my mind just now as I saw Jin's car parked in the driveway. I looked up and he waved at me smiling.
