Dinner at Eight

You took the mature route and decided to call Jin the day after. There's no use in burning the bridges. It may have been a good decision to not see each other anymore but it doesn't mean you two shouldn't talk.

It took three rings before Jin answered your hone call.

"Hey!"

"Changed your mind?"

"Hmmm... no but we found the culprit."

"Doesn't matter, Namjoon said the copies are being taken down one by one."

"My friend did that."

"Thank her and good riddance."

"Jin... don't do this."

Only beeping sound followed. Being friends with Jin is like having a high maintenance girlfriend. Say one thing to piss him off. Everything pisses him off after that.

"Ms. Nam, Mr. Kim is here to see you."

It looks like he's acting. Good riddance but he's here to talk to me again.

"Let him in."

"Hi Jae." It wasn't Jin. It was Namjoon. I don't know if I'm disappointed or surprise over the course of events.

"Namjoon. I was just off the phone with Jin." You said. "What can I do for you?"

"Oh, so you've made up?" He said.

"Not really. He drop the call before I can say goodbye." You said. "Is that why you're here?"

"I wanna thank you for what you've done. Hobi told me that he left a USB drive in the bakery. He found it already. Most of the videos and uploads are being deleted by now."

"That's good."

"I came here also to ask you— beg you. To talk to Jin."

"We're cool."

"He doesn't look cool. He doesn't joke anymore, he said it may piss us off and we'll be mad at him. He doesn't cook for us anymore, saying we might get mad if he didn't cook our favorites. He only plays with his sugar gliders. He started calling them Jae and Hee. He talks to them about his day. Please Jae, please just talk to him."

"The first time we talked, Jin and Tae fought. Then the next You and Him fought. I don't wanna mess with your group Namjoon."

"But you're not. It's our fault. Jin and Tae has always been on each other's neck. Jin's the oldest but the youngest in their home. Tae's the oldest in their house but the one of the youngest in the group."

"And how about the fight between the two of you..."

"I just think he likes you so he's protective... usually he listens to me."

"He said you used to believe him."

"Jae... you're a rational being. Tell me, if you're in my shoes, would you doubt your intention?"

You didn't answer. That stint with Tae and that comment about Yoongi did quite put you under the dirt.

"Just talk to him, he's like a fucking kid honestly. This is the longest time he hasn't talked to any of us. He wouldn't even talk to Yoongi hyung. He kinda needs him. Jessie's taking the operation tomorrow, he wouldn't talk to us either."

"It's only been a day."

"Exactly. And it's pissing all of us off."

"I'll see what I can do."
