Cadence sat. She looked around the room nervously. It appeared to be some sort of training room. The four monsters watched her carefully. She expected to see someone but instead sat in front of some sort of technology. Cadence kept reminding herself she'd seen stranger things but knew this was the most bizarre.
Suddenly someone popped up on the screen. All she could see was a rat like nose. The turtles watched nervously.
"Hello? Hello? How do you work this thing? Curse this new technology." Splinter tapped the screen.
"Uh Master Splinter?" Leo spoke. Suddenly the screen turned black and it said 'call ended.'
"He ended the call..." Donnie face palmed. "Just one moment." He weakly smiled at Cadence and called Splinter again. This time he picked up.
"Ah. There you are. Why do you call me in Japan, my sons?" Splinter was way too close to the screen.
"Uh you see... We kinda ran into a problem." Donnie turned the screen to Cadence. Splinter took one look at her and immediately began to take a deep breathe out of slight anger. He looked back at Cadence knowing he wouldn't be able to get out of this one.
"What is your name?" The rat spoke. She couldn't help but flinch. It was so strange.
"What if I don't say?" Cadences voice trembled.
"Then we'll rip you limb from lim..." Raph started. Splinter silenced him.
"Nothing at all. If you do not wish to speak I will not force you." The rat smiled. It smiled!
Cadence was getting freaked out. Suddenly someone walked in. It was a human girl. Some relief came to Cadence until she realized the girl had a tail and ears poking out of her skin.
Cadence was surrounded by freaks. She looked down at her trembling hands. Rebecca knelt down next to her and put a hand on Cadences shoulder.
"Guys... give her some space. Your scaring her." Rebecca looked at the turtles.
"Your one to talk." Raph mumbled.
"Excuse me? You have something to say Raph?" She glared at him. They didn't seem to be on good terms.
"Ya I said your one to talk." Raph snapped. "If you haven't noticed were not the only freaks in the room. Kitty cat." He practically hissed out the words.
"Don't call me that." Rebecca growled. He looked at her with a bitter smirk.
"What? Something wrong kitty ca..." Raph was cut off by Splinters words.
"Rapheal, please leave the room. We do not have time for this foolishness." Their master spoke calmly. He was still very intimidating even if he wasn't really in the room.
"But..." Raph looked at him wide eyed. Now it was Rebeccas turn to wear a smirk.
"You heard him. Get going, Red." She looked into his angered eyes. Rebecca knew he didn't like being called that. Raph stormed out.
Everyone could feel the tension between the two even when Raph left the room. Splinter looked at Cadence.
"I'm sure you have many questions." Then he began to tell the story of the turtles creation. Splinter then told the story of how Rebecca became part of the family. It was a lot for Cadence to wrap her head around. Splinter seemed kind, unlike other monsters she'd met.
After that Splinter ordered his 'sons' to take Cadence to Rebecca's room. Cadence now sat on her bed. All the information swirled around in her mind.
"Do they expect me to sleep?" She thought. "How long am I going to be locked up in here?" Cadence began to pace the room. "I need to get out of..." She tugged on the door. It easily opened. Cadence stood there for a moment in a mix of confusion and shock. "Its unlocked?"
Cadence cautiously poked her head out. She expected the turtles to be guarding her door. Instead she saw them eating...pizza? The one they called Mikey was playing some sort of video game like a normal child. Cadence was now completely confused. Rebecca noticed her and waved.
"Come join us." She grinned. Cadence stepped out of the door awkwardly. Rebecca led her to the table. She sat her down in a seat. Leo slid her a plate. These creatures seemed to be really nice. Cadence couldn't help but feel suspicious.
"Wheres Raph?" Rebecca asked suddenly.
"Probably out having his usual temper tantrum." Leo sliced up a few more pieces of pizza. Cadence admired the turtles muscles. His arms showed that he practiced a lot with the sword. She liked this warrior turtle.
"What a baby." Rebecca bit into her pizza. Leo was noticing her new behavior to Raph.
"Did something happen?" He asked calmly. Rebecca just waved a hand not wanting to talk about it. Cadence sat listening.
Suddenly something burst out of some doors. A small mechanical device rolled out on wheels. It seemed to be spazzing out as black smoke wafted from its back. Donnie was chasing after it. He was covered in grime.
"Come back! Your overheating!" Donnie yelled running after the machine.
"Overheating? I got this." Mikey jumped up and slid out a few water balloons.
"No Mikey!" Donnie exclaimed as his little brother let loose the balloons. They exploded onto the machine. Some off target water balloons smashed into Leo and Rebecca drenching them.
Donnie now looked at his destroyed machine. At once they all turned and glared at the orange clad turtle. He smiled weakly and shrugged.
"Mikey!" They growled in unison and pounced on the little turtle. There was a lot of commotion. Cadence watched in silence. A small smile touched her face.
Raph walked in right at that moment. He raised an eyebrow seeing the mangled mess of bodies trying to grab Mikey. He rolled his eyes and sat down on the couch. Mikey ran over to him.
"Bro you gotta help me..." The freckled turtle whimpered.
"Get lost." Raph jabbed him in the head with his fingers, making Mikey fall back. Leo sighed and turned to everyone.
"How about we all relax with a movie hm?" He gave a dorky smile.
"I'm in."
"Me too!"
"I'll get the popcorn."
They all turned to Raph. He merely shrugged and mumbled something inaudible. Then they all ran off getting ready for the movie night. Rebecca waved Cadence over. She sat down next to her a little unsure.
The turtles came back with blankets and popcorn. To Cadences surprise they all acted like normal teenagers. She didn't pay much attention to the movie. Cadence looked at everyone in the room.
The orange turtle seemed to be sorta silly but adorable. He acted like a little boy. Cadence didn't know what to think of Raph. So far he seemed to be a turtle who had a bad temper.
She glanced at Leo. Cadence admired his skill. The turtle seemed very focused. Her eyes shifted to Donnie. He was brilliant. Though very nerdy. Cadence couldn't help but stare at his gap. Rebecca seemed kind. She reminded Cadence a lot of someone she use to know.
"Maybe I should give these Monsutā... a chance." Cadence thought and closed her eyes feeling exhausted.
