Donatello opened his eyes. He looked around the room to see his brothers sound asleep on the couches. Someone was missing. He shrugged and headed to the bathroom to wash his face.
The purple clad turtle pushed open the door. A girl stood in front of the mirror. Donatello blinked. She had long shiny brown hair and simple eyes that matched her hair. She pushed up red glasses and looked at Donnie. She wore Rebecca's clothes. Who is this girl?
"You guys should clean your shower more often. There was some mold in the corner. Oh and don't leave wet towels on the floor. That's just disgusting." She brushed out her hair while she informed Donnie of their unclean bathroom.
It took a moment for Donnie to figure out who she was. He tilted his head.
"Cadence?" He said in surprise.
"That's my name. Don't wear it out." She replied with a small smile.
"But... wha... you..." Donnie was in shock. This is what her natural look was? "You look... different."
"Well of course. Taking off make up, contacts, and wigs will change a person." Cadence was examining her face in the mirror.
"You wear glasses?" The nerdy turtle couldn't seem to wrap his head around this drastic transformation. She looked like a completely different person.
"What of it?" She snapped.
"Uh." Was all he could manage out.
"Listen here Mr. Gaptooth." She looked at him obviously annoyed.
"Mr. Gaptooth...?" Donnie was interrupted.
"So what if I wear glasses!? I don't need good eyes to be a warrior." It must have been a touchy subject for her.
"Okay. Okay. Sorry." Donnie didn't want this girl mad. He turned away to leave.
"Oh... uh..." Cadence looked at the ground. 'I'm guessing this was your handy work?" She lowered a part of her pants to show where she was hit by the bullet. It was sewn up neatly. Her cheeks were red from embarrassment. "Thanks." Cadence covered herself back up.
"No problem." Donnie gave her a kind smile. There was an awkward silence. "Well I'm going to my lab."
"Can I come with?" She asked obviously intrigued.
"Uh sure." Donnie walked out of the bathroom and headed to the lab with Cadence following close behind him. She was very curious.
Leo opened his eyes. He looked around the room. The older brother couldn't help but smile at his sleeping family. Leo stood and passed by Donnie's lab. The door was cracked open. He stopped noticing something.
"Whats this thing?" Cadence looked around the room in excitement. There was a tiny little robot.
"Please don't touch that." Donnie sighed as he worked on a larger machine.
"Why not?" Cadence stared at the cute little robot.
"Of course you can touch it.... if you like being blown to pieces." Donnie replied as he climbed under the machine to fix a few wires. Cadence immediately took a step back gaining a chuckle from purple clad turtle. He came out from under the machine covered in grime. Leo smiled at that and continued walking.
Cadence glanced at Donnie. He stretched and looked kinda cute. His mask was off showing more of his face. Donnie caught her eye and smiled. Cadence looked away. She caught a glimpse of Leo as he left. Cadence walked out of the lab without a word and curiously followed the older turtle.
Leo didn't seem to notice her. He went into the training room. The turtle slid out his katana's and began to practice his forms. She peeked out from behind the sliding door. Cadence watched Leo admiring his skill. Her heart felt funny for some strange reason. She wondered why her heart fluttered when she was around the older turtle.
Donnie stood at his lab door and watched Cadence. He looked at the beautiful girl for a moment and sighed. Something felt strange in his own hearts.
