Chapter 17 Sewer Bunnies

"Get down!" Leo shoved Raph to the ground. Ninja stars flew over their heads. They had successfully gotten away from Emori but foot ninjas were hot on their tails.

"You can't run forever little turtles." Emori shouted. Leo kept his brother down and silent as the massive turtle passed by them. Raphs leg throbbed.

"Were almost home." Leo whispered. "We just have to make it to a man hole." Raph noticed a few ninja stars were buried deep in Leos arms and leg.

"Leo." Raph began.

"I'm fine. Lets just focus on getting home." Leo began to help Raph up. There was a strange whizzing sound. Raph saw a small glint in the darkness.

"Look out!!!" Raph pushed Leo as shurikens and blades stuck into the red cladded turtles shell.

Leo let out a sound of pain. A kunai had hit him in the side and pierced his shell . Raph knelt down and held Leo close. the leader seemed frozen in pain.

"Its going to be alright Leo." He glanced at the knife sticking out of his brother. Raph hated keeping it there but knew if he removed it, it could make Leo bleed to death. A few more blades flew passed them "We'll both die if we don't get out of here." Raph looked at Leo.

Raph slid his hands underneath Leo and with all the strength he had, lifted him up. Raphs injured leg screamed in pain. He did his best to ignore it as he carried his brother to safety. He could hear shurikans and knives thudding against his shell.

"I can run." Leo tried to get out of Raphs hold.

"Don't move. You'll lose more blood." Raph said sternly.

"That's the same for you. You'll die!" Leo weakly replied. Raph looked down at his brother and managed a smile.

"Better me then you. The team would be lost without your leadership, Leo." Raph jumped down into an alley. "Besides my wound isn't as serious as yours. I'm not going to die."

Leo looked at his brother and smiled lightly. "I will always remember this Raph."

"Damn right. You owe me bro." Raph joked. Leo rolled his eyes.

"What happened?" Mikey sat on a roof with Rebecca. She smiled and wrapped her arms around him in a hug.

"It's nothing." Rebecca replied as she hugged him tightly.

"It has to be something. I hate seeing you sad." Mikey looked at Rebecca with the most adorable eyes.

"Where do I begin?" She giggled and pulled away. Rebecca wiped away some of her tears. Then she broke. She told the little turtle everything. She doubted he understood any of it but when he nodded his head and showed his worried face it made him seem much older. When Rebecca had finished she let out a breathe. "Thanks for listening."

"Sometimes we just need to vent out." Mikey smiled. "I don't have much experience in love but I'm sure everything will work out just fine." He patted her on the back.

"Sometimes you seem like such a mature adult." Rebecca smiled kindly to her little brother.

"And sometimes I'm a clown." Mikey finished for her.

"Somehow your always happy." She said.

"Its a gift." Mikey shrugged and let out a chuckle. "I'm just glad your alright now."

"Thank you, Mikey." Rebecca gave him another hug. "Your the best little brother I could ever have."

"Who you calling little?" He joked and embraced her in his massive arms.

"Seems like i keep walking in on touching moments." Someone spoke. They both looked up and saw Emori. Before Rebecca could react Mikey was already standing.

"Run." He pulled out his nunchucks.

"But..."

"I'm not a weak child anymore, Rebecca." Mikey smiled at her. "I'll be alright. Go."

She couldn't believe how much he had grown. Rebecca hesitantly nodded her head and ran. She needed to get to the lair and fetch help.

Emori sighed and made a signal. A few foot ninjas began to chase after her. he then looked at Mikey with a smirk.

Rebecca ran down into and alley way to get to the manhole cover. Suddenly one of the ninjas grabbed her tail and yanked her back. She let out a surprised sound.

As Rebecca came back into the enemies arms she sent her elbow into the ninjas face. He stumbled back as three more surrounded her.

Rebecca blocked a few kicks and hits. She was outnumbered. A foot ninja came up behind her and held her still. Rebecca struggled trying to break free.

The one she had elbowed in the face approached her. He sent a blow into her stomach making Rebecca want to give up her meal. They rained countless of blows on her.

"Déjà vu." Rebecca couldn't help but think.

Her mind went to old memories. When Karai had made friends with her and called herself Akira. Rebecca had been in a similar situation when Karai sent the Purple Dragons onto her. Leo saved her that day but this time she might not be so lucky.

Suddenly a scream reached her ears. Rebecca came back to the present and looked around. Cadence stood there with her katanan held high. All of the foot ninjas were on the ground.

"Come on!" Cadence grabbed Rebecca's hand and dragged her down the manhole. She was pulled away from the surface
