Chapter 23 Death

WARNING: FEELS UP AHEAD

Rebecca gasped for air. She was drenched and laying on solid ground. The giant turtle looked down at her. She grabbed his arm as pain seemed to rip away at her insides. Will held her close.

"It's alright... It's alright." He squeezed her tightly. Rebecca could'nt seem to form words. "Don't speak. Please. I'll take care of you."

He looked at her wound. The blade had been thrusted deep in her side. Rebecca's hands shook. Will carefully placed one of his hands on her cut. She looked at him in confusion.

"You'll be alright. I'll make sure of that." Rebecca was having a hard time keeping her eyes open. "Do you remember our home?" Will began trying to keep his voice steady. "Our little house in Montana. Remember the forests that surrounded us? The crystal clear water and the mountains that seemed o reach the stars. One day Rebecca. We'll travel to the stars together." He looked down at her sweetly. "But today I'll be going on ahead of you."

Rebeccas tight pain began to disappear. Her wound was sealing back up. Will was beginning to look pale. His face shrank into his usual human shape. Slowly his body changed. Rebecca had no idea what was happening. She took a deep breathe.

"Will..." She managed out.

"I love you little sister." He smiled and collapsed on the ground. She looked at him in shock and weakly sat up. Rebecca rested her brothers head in her arms.

"Will?" He didn't respond. "Will?!" She pushed her ear against his chest. Nothing. "No..." Rebecca couldn't believe it. "No! Will! Oh god please no!" Tears stung her eyes and her heart felt heavy. "Will!!!! Please...." She hugged his limp body as she sobbed. "Will!" Her voice cracked as the tears ran down her face and dropped onto her brothers pale face.

Raph waded toward them. He moved quickly and placed a hand on Rebecca's shoulder. He took one glance at Will and realized he was dead.

"He's gone..." Rebecca turned to Raph still cradling Will. "He's gone forever. I cant save him... I'm so useless!" Raph embraced her.

"Sssshhh. Your not useless..." Raph cooed gently. Rebecca cried in his arms. The battle had been won but at what cost? They sat in the rain for a long time until the others spotted them.

Everyone comforted Rebecca for the next two days. She was given Wills ashes to spread when the time was right.

Rebecca sat on her bed writing in her journal. "Its been four days since Will's death. Karai hasn't been found yet. Cadence is healing well along with the others." She sighed and continued writing. "I still do not know what happened that day with Will. Maybe it was some strange power he had gained from his mutation. I guess we'll never know. I miss him but I know he's watching over me... somewhere in the stars." She set down her journal and looked at the small wooden box on her shelf. Her small doll from their childhood sat on cremation box. "I'll join you up there in the stars one day, big brother."

Rebecca shuffled out of her room and peeked in Donnie's lab. The turtles lay in hospital beds all bandaged up. They healed very nicely and didn't even look like they had gone through a life or death battle.

Mikey rested as did Leo. Raph was playing with his brothers laptop out of boredom. He had the corner bed. Rebecca noticed something. The red clad turtle was holding Leo's hand. Rebecca hid a smile. It was rare to see Raph show brotherly love. He obviously worried about his sleeping brother.

"Isn't it cute?" Cadence whispered, startling Rebecca.

"Shouldn't you be in bed?" She questioned and looked at her bandaged shoulder.

"Nah. I can't stand doing nothing. Besides... the samurai are taught to live with pain! It makes us stronger." Cadence clamped a hand on her shoulder but immediately winced as pain shot up her arm. Rebecca giggled. "Oh uh one more thing..." Cadence looked at her seriously. "Are we okay? I mean... Leo and the kiss and all..." She rubbed her head sheepishly. Rebecca just smiled at her.

"It's fine. I can't stop you from liking someone."

"But isn't he your boyfriend?"

"No." She replied bluntly. "So what does it matter how I feel?" Rebecca put a hand on Cadences good shoulder. "I'm not bothered at all. I'm just glad were still friends." Cadences face lit up.

"Really? That's a relief... I thought I lost my only girl friend."

"It'll take a lot more to get rid of me." The two girls giggled together.

Rebecca headed back to her room a little happier. Though the thought of Will still tugged at her heart. There was so much they could have done or asked. It's interesting how life can be taken away just like that.

 There was a knock on Rebecca's door later that day. Raph popped his head in. "Hey."

"Hey..." She replied a little glumly. He sat down next to her on the bed.

"You doing alright?" Raph looked at her with sympathetic eyes. Rebecca seemed to forget that this big tough hot headed turtle actually had a soft side. She shook her head back and forth in reply.

"So many emotions are hitting me at once. Hopelessness, frustration, anger, even fear..." Rebecca looked up at Raph. "I just feel so alone."

"Your not alone though. You have us. You have your family." Raph spoke gently. She smiled up at him.

"I guess I'm never truly alone after all." Rebecca leaned up and let their lips glide together. Her heart didn't feel so heavy now. Her heart actually seemed to flutter. She realized she wanted to spend her life with this hotheaded turtle. Forever. Rebecca sighed and let her hands slide under his bandana gently lifting it up. She stared  at his handsome shimmering eyes.  "I love you Raphael." She grinned looking up at him as she lay on the bed. Her face was deep crimson.

"I love you too, Rebecca." Raph replied sweetly and she received another passionate kiss. It was a nice night. Just them and their love for one another.

Well... I finally decided! Raphecca! Sorry Leo fangirls.... Please don't be mad...(･_･;) You guys are going to kill me...I didn't want this to turn into an M rated book so I stopped the 'love scene' here XD lol... but you get the point. More chapters soon! This isn't the end! Still so many adventures waiting to be written!
