Chapter Forty-three

Roman's P.O.V

Two days. Two days we have been searching the different locations on the list Logan and Dee created. Tomorrow will be our third day so hopefully we get lucky and find them. Right now I'm sitting inside of Anx's room, something I've been doing quite a bit. Anx and I have a lot of memories in this room. Some are bad and others are good. The worst being when he tried to end his life... That is a day I will never forget... However I will also never forget the first time that we kissed. I was so scared that he didn't feel the same but luckily he did. Every minute, every second I have spent with him is something I will always treasure. I know that we will still have our disagreements and probably small fights every now and again but it will never change how I feel about him. 

"Where the hell are you?" I ask out loud while looking around.

I should probably get some sleep so I'll be ready to go out searching tomorrow. 

"Don't worry guys we'll find you," I say and stand up to leave. 

Before I leave I glance back into his room and notice something under his bed. No way. Is that? I walk back over to his bed and lean down to look underneath. Reaching under his bed I feel around until I feel a smooth object. 

"How did you get under here?" I ask out loud once I pull out the pendant I gave Anx. 

Devin must've hid it so Virgil's magic would go crazy when he wanted it to. He'll be happy that I found it. He was pretty upset when he realized it was gone. 

I still need to get some sleep so I leave his room and make sure to close his door. Once I reach my room I requip into some pajama pants and climb into bed. My dreams are all revolved around Virgil.

"Roman, get up. Roman, come on. Please wake up. Princey," I hear someone calling my name and shaking my shoulder. 

I feel like I've only been asleep for about an hour. Who the hell is waking me up? Wait... Virgil's the only one who really calls me Princey anymore. As the thought crosses my mind I shoot up from my bed. My eyes begin to adjust to the dark and I don't see anyone at first. When I feel something move next to me I turn to see Virgil and he looks so scared. 

"I-I'm sorry... It took me a long time to be able to gain control again," he says softly. I assure him that it's fine and pull him into a hug. He hugs me back but tighter as if he is afraid I will disappear. 

"Baby, can you tell me what's been going on?" I ask and he pulls back. 

"Uhh... Did you just call me 'baby'?" he says and I finally realize why he pulled back. I've called him a ton of different nicknames but never that. 

"Yes I did. Uhh it kind of just slipped out," I say back. 

He leans in and gives me a quick kiss on the lips before pulling only slightly back to whisper, "I love you." 

I can't help the smile that forms on my face so I kiss him again but longer this time.

"Listen, I don't have much time. Carsen is at this address. You need to find him and I need you to protect him. I will use my shade spell to get as far away as I can before he takes over again. I'll try to hold him off but you need to hurry. All of you need to protect each other," he says handing me a piece of paper so I tell him that I will and that he needs to stay. 

"We have a plan," I tell him. 

"Devin knows about your plan and it's not going to be easy for me to get rid of him. He doesn't want to leave my body... He likes my magic and he knows that I've beat him before and I'll do it again but-" he trails off so I finish for him.
