Virgil's P.O.V

I begin to drift off but a knock at my door jolts we awake. Ugh. I pull myself off the bed.

Then I walk to the door saying, "Patton, I told you I wanted to rest."

When I open the door I realize it isn't Patton, it's Roman.

"Princey?" I ask surprised to see him.

"I can come back if you'd like" he says. I shake my head and invite him in. "I need to talk to you. I can't keep this up anymore, it's tiring. The reason I've been hanging around you so much is because Patton asked me to," he tells me. What?

"Other than that I was just curious about your magic. Now that I've seen it, I know you really are evil and I can't be around someone who's evil. I was just going to go back to ignoring you but I wanted to make sure you knew nothing between us was real," he says with pity. Tears begin to fill my eyes. He turns to leave.

As he's leaving he quietly says, "You should have stayed with Dee."

That's not Roman! My face is cheeks are wet with tears but now I feel an anger growing in me.

"What did you just say?! You are not Roman, so where is he?" I shout and hear a crash of thunder outside.

He turns around slowly, "I know your feelings for me are real but mine are not. Just because you can't accept that doesn't mean I'm fake." You seem so desperate.

I know that's not him because he knows nothing about the other dark sides, none of them do. I grab him from behind with a shadow and throw him against my wall.

As a shelf falls to the floor I yell out,  "Who are you?! What did you do to him?!"

I hear running in the halls and I know the others are on the way. I can't let them see this thing. I take a deep breath and use the shadows around me to cast Dark Cage and hold it in place.

Before I can close the door Thomas and the others burst in, "Virgil! Are you alright?" I turn back around where the fake Prince just was but he's disappeared. I can't believe I let him disappear... "What happened in here?" Thomas asks looking around my room. That magic, it can't be.

Roman's P.O.V

"Do you have any ideas Roman?" Logan asks pulling me away from my thoughts.

"My bad. I wasn't paying attention but to answer your question, yes. I wrote down some video ideas not long ago. I can go grab them and-" I get cut off when we hear shouting and a crash from Anx's room.

We all look at each other. Thomas, Patton, Logan and I. After a second we all take off out of the commons, down the hall and to Anx's room. I hope he's alright.

"What happened in here?" Thomas asks as we enter Virgil's room. I look around and notice a broken shelf on the floor.

"Uhh, nothing I just tripped. Don't worry about it." He tripped and broke a shelf practically in half? No way. It's obvious the others don't believe him either.

"Sure." I say looking at him suspiciously.

"Yeah, well I'm going to go back to bed. If you don't mind." He says pushing us out. Although very confused we still leave his room. What is going on with him?

Virgil's P.O.V

I need to know if it's him. Once I'm confident they are far enough away I use my stealth magic to sneak out. I start running to the commons. When I reach it I silently walk past the others. Then I make my way in and through the imagination. I reach the end and keep on to the back of the mindscape.

As I'm running I pass mine and the others old rooms but just ignore them. I continue until I reach a long hall and stop. Once I see the door at the other end I run up and push it open. I approach the cage cautiously afraid of what I may or may not find.

"Virgil, it's been too long. Are you here to finally let us out?" a voice says from the dark cage in the corner of the room.

"Where is he, Carsen?" I ask angrily in response.

I hear a familiar voice behind me say, "I've missed you Virgil."

I turn around. He walks closer and I get ready to attack if need be. Instead I get caught off guard by him hugging me. [Virgil, do you love me? He asks sadly. You know I do and I always will.] The memory flashes through my mind but I push him away.

"So, is Roman the reason you broke my heart and betrayed me? To be with him, the one who has always treated you like nothing since the day you first met," he says angrily.

"Leave him out of this, you know why I did what I did. You would've killed us all! I stopped you once before and I will do it again," I tell him.

He laughs while walking closer to the cage, "You will let the others out eventually whether you like it or not and when I finally take control your dear Prince will be the first to die." I walk closer,

"How did you ever escape? The only way out of that cage is if I let you out." Wait. "Unless you were never in there, to begin with," I say mostly to myself.

"Now you're getting it. My illusion magic is rather convincing, isn't it? Just let Carsen and Hunter out and maybe I'll consider killing him quickly."

I try to hit him with my Dark Magic but it turns out to be another illusion. When he doesn't reappear I wonder if I should look for him or just go back. I need to check on the others. But I won't tell them anything. I should but I can't.

"Sorry about this love," Dee says as I feel him take control of my body. Shit! I was considering whether or not to lie. "I need the boys out if I'm going to kill the others and take control," he adds.

I try fighting back but the next thing I know the cage door pops open. He then forces me to my knees and appears in front of me. Crouching down he grabs my face and kisses me.

"Things will all get better soon. I promise and we'll be together again. For now love, we must bid you farewell," he says.

He disappears again but this time with the others and I regain control of my body. I want to scream. I want to cry. I just want to break something but I need to make sure the others are okay.
