Chapter forty
Katherine's POV
**
Today exam practical was a little bit tedious for me but thankfully, I was still able to finish up in time before the rest of the class. I began to feel dizzy right after I tried to pick up my ruler when it fell to the floor.
Christ!
Lavi kept mouthing ' Are you okay?' At me the entire time and I couldn't help but wonder if I was doing the right thing by not telling him the truth. He seem to care a great deal about my well being even though he is not even aware of what could be going on and besides; he deserves to know the damn truth but then again,am scared!. This truth might alter the cause of his life and action forever.
I haven't even decided if I want to keep this baby or not.
I know it won't be long before everyone finds out the whole truth but am still hoping it won't be sooner. I've to keep this secret a bit longer. I was able to alter the hospital result by messing with their samples the other day and might have succeeded in buying myself another month before anyone realizes that am indeed pregnant.
Thank God for a very flat tummy!
My hand involuntarily went to my belly and rubbed at it. Signing in relief, I turned to face Lavi again and found that he too was watching me closely and intently.
Oh God! What if he figures this out!
I shoot him a nervous smile and he mouthed ' hungry?' At me and I nodded. He smiled at me again and mouthed another reply but I wasn't paying attention any more. The examiner was suddenly in front of my desk.
"Is something wrong?" He asked
"No sir. I'm just having a really bad headache" rubbing at my temple.
"Go on and finish up your work then, I can see that you're almost done here" he encouraged.
"I'll sir. Thank you"
Obi finished right after I did and we ended up going to the cafeteria together.
"Between yesterday's chemistry and today's physics practical. Which of them was a bit hard for you" he inquired with a serious look and am wondering why it even matters at this point when we have submitted our papers already.
"Chemistry was easy! Physics had graphs to plot so you decide" I answered as best as I could.
"Physics it's then. I hope biology will be better" he murmured
"With those endless specimens to identify and draw? I'd say worst but we can get through it. There are far worst things than biology practicals" shrugging.
"Things like what?" His head snapping at me.
Things like being pregnant for a example.
