Chapter forty-five

Katherine's POV

**

I was still pretty much coiled up in my bed after last night incident waiting for death or my dad to come strangle me this morning cos it seem am still alive but the only thing that came for me was Aunt Nene with a tray of food. It was just 7:30am in the morning and my room was still devoid of sunlight. My bed sheet is still dampen from my tears as I lay helplessly on it.

She placed the tray on the side tool and sat at the foot of my bed with glimmer of smile across her tired face. I bet she was wry from watching me through last night drama.

"How do you feel my dear?" Squeezing my hand that had fallen from under the duvet.

Like dying?

That answer only stayed in my head where it belong cos it never made it out of my mouth as I said nothing in reply. She walked over to the curtain and pulled it apart allowing a sudden ray of sunlight into the room that was soaking with my tears a while ago. I pulled the duvet over my head in response to the attack of light beam on my eyes as I sank deeper into the comfort of my bed.

"Seat up and eat my dear..you barely ate last night" pulling off the cover from my head.

"I'm not hungry" reaching over to pull the cover back over my head.

Her hand found mine before I could and held it between the warmth of her palm.

"Listen here my dear. If you're going to face your father again then you need all the strength you can get so seat up and eat something" she picked up the glass of milk from the tray and held it out to me.

"Go on and drink it" she offered again.

"Where is my dad?" Struggling to seat up on the bed before grabbing the glass of milk from her out stretched hand.

"I heard him speaking on the phone earlier. I think he left for work already"

Work?

That doesn't sound right!

Has he really gone to work without dragging me along? Or he has gone somewhere else. He did mention he'd call back the nurse from hell! Could it be that he has gone to meet her?

More hell....

Going over to meet her would also mean going to school and that could also mean meeting Lavi as well.

Shit!...that could be bad!

I dropped the empty glass on the tray and rushed towards the bathroom.

"Where are you going?"

"I'm late for school aunt..my practical is about to start" I answered hurriedly as I began to throw off my clothes.

"But..."

I slammed the door before she could even complete her sentence.
