Chapter forty-four

Lavi's POV

"Ayo my son! How can you do this to yourself. Where did we go wrong in bringing you up" she cried hysterically as she continued to banter at me.

I knew hell was going to descend on me the moment I tell them the truth but her words doesn't matter any more. She was doing the exact thing I knew she would. My dad was still quiet by the corner and hasn't utter a word.

His silence is becoming more terrifying than my mom endless words.

"I'm sorry mom. I didn't mean for any of these to happen" I apologized again for the hundred time.

"I warned you did I not? I warned you that she is no good and will be the ruin of you but you didn't listen. You fell right into her seductive power.  Now look at where your deaf ears has gotten you"

I knew she was going to say I told you so but it doesn't matter even.

"It wasn't her fault that she got pregnant mother! I caused this okay? I got her pregnant. I ruined her life and not the other way round"

She scoffed at me as she adjusted her wrapper around her waist. I honestly don't know why she ties them if she is still going to retie it in another minute or two.

"Look at you! Take a very good look at yourself.. I caused this! I ruined her life" mimicking my word..."yes you caused it so go ahead and clap for yourself because you are also going to be a father but guess what? your father and I won't lift even a finger to help you because we only sent you to school but you went and brought this upon yourself so you must bear the consequences alone " her voice as cold as ice as she yelled at me.

"Ehm mama Ayo; that's enough now! Your neighbors can hear you from here" said my dad at last

Finally!

"Don't shout at me o, it is your son here who should be screamed at for being a disgrace to this family not me" she countered back

"I said that's enough!" He yelled again and she went quiet.

"Is there any prove that our son got her pregnant?" Turning to my mom and grabbing my attention as well.

What did he say?

"I got her pregnant dad and there is what they call a paternity test that proves what you're insinuating so yes I got her pregnant!"

"That hasn't been proven yet so am telling you now that you didn't get her pregnant so get that stupid thought out of your head before my shoe meet your sorry face this minute" he growled.

I shifted from one foot to the next and said nothing in reply. It's obvious he has a twisted plan up his sleeve already.
