Lavi's POV

I found Katherine at the prep room after searching all over for her. She seemed to be crying when I found her and I can't understand why. I get that she is upset about the fight with obi but it wasn't my fault. He came at me like a fucking lunatic and I had to beat it out of him nonetheless but seeing her in tears because of that same reason is something I wish I hadn't done no matter whose fault was it.

"I'm sorry okay? He came at me first and I had to defend myself" I explained

She only shook her head at me as tears continued to flow down her cheeks

Jesus!

I don't get this..why is she so emotional right now. Did something else happened or the fight is the only thing upsetting her this much.

"C'mon K, I said am sorry didn't I? I know he is your friend and it's my fault. Sorry!" I practically yelled.

"No! It's not your fault. This is all my doing" she cried even more touching my stitched up cheek.

"How is it your fault huh? You didn't ask him to go fight me. Him of all people should know better than coming at me like that"

"No you don't understand Lavi. He got upset because of me! I should have known he'd go looking for you"

"How do you mean?" My eyes searching hers as I moved closer.

She looked away with her back turned to me and I stopped in my tracks.

What is this?

She won't even look at me?

"Remember the test result I got from the clinic last week?"

"Yeah? What about it?"

She turned and faced me again but her lip were practically trembling as she stared back at me with a sorry look at her face.

"I lied Lavi" her voice has reduced to a whisper.... " I totally lied about the result and it's no stomach virus either " biting down at her bottom lips.

I was completely flushed as I stared back at her. Why do I feel like something really life changing is about to happen to me? I can practically hear my heart beat at this point.

"Tell me what it says. I mean the real result"

"I'm... I'm pre-pregnant Lavi" she replied quietly as another tear slip down her cheek before her shoulder slumped down in total defeat.

The moment the word fell out her mouth, I began to see it more clearly because it was there all along! Crystal clear. It was in her eyes; the way she looked at me. In her gaze; watching me closely and the way she ate her lunch better and faster than anyone. And even today, she gave me a clue back at the exam hall when she rubbed at her belly and then back at me. It was all there! Now I get why obi wanted to rip my throat out. He also knew she is pregnant and for me!
