11: Closer

Lucy's POV

"That's why I'm planning on leaving this

Monday."

"What? You can't!" Gray protested, "What if your dad said the truth? That can't be the only reason you're leaving."

"I can't keep up with the bullying anymore!!" I wept, clenching my teeth to try and hold back my tears. "I've only been here for two days, and I've been beaten up twice. Think about how many times I'd be beaten up if I stay for the whole year."

Gray frowned, his eyes covered with sorrow. "That doesn't mea-"

"I can't take it, Gray!!" I insisted, finally letting my tears flow out. "I don't want this!! I thought this could've been a change for me. The only things that are new are the bruises on my body!"

Gray looked at me, sincerity in his eyes, "If we weren't helping out Natsu right now, I would hug you."

I blushed a little and wiped away the tears from my eyes, "Its ok. Just.." I hesitated for a little bit, "Please don't tell anyone that I'm leaving. Especially Natsu."

"I won't." Gray accepted as we walked into the Boys' Dorm.

"Elfman-sensei." I blurted at the sight of seeing Elfman at the front desk.

"Hi Lucy, Gray, Natsu." He greeted, totally oblivious to the fact that Natsu's unconscious.

"Flame Brain here touched some rain." Gray says casually, "Me and Lucy are gonna get him back up to his room."

"Yeah, ok." Elfman approved. How are they so casual about this? Does Natsu always go out in the rain or something?

Me and Gray walk into the elevator, "Natsu's room is on the second floor." He mentions. I push the button and were sent up.

"Gray," I whimper.

"What up?"

"What did you mean yesterday? When you said Natsu's sorry because.." I hesitate before I finish my sentence, feeling embarrassed to say it. "Because he loves me?"

Gray starts laughing hysterically, he actually sounds like a talking pig. "When I said that, I was just trying to piss off Natsu." He informed, his laughter slowing down. "But who knows. It's been two days and you guys are already really close. Maybe he does love you."

I feel heat rising into my cheeks. Maybe he does love you. The words keep repeating in my head, and I keep telling myself he doesn't. I mean, we only just met.. According to him. I can't just come out of the blue and fall in love with him all a sudden. It's not right..

The elevator door slid open and me and Gray walked out before it could close on us, "Here Lucy, just follow me I'll lead you to his room." Gray insists, walking down the hallway.

"Gray, I just realized something. How do we get him into his room without his key?" I remark.

"Crap, uh, I'll look in his right pocket, you look in the left." Gray decides, already having his hand down Natsu's pocket.

How do I do this.. I mean, it's his pants pocket. I'm going to feel so uncomfortable reaching here. Eeh, I can't.. But Gray's probably watching me. What if he sees that I didn't look and he gets all mad and monstrous again.

"Just put him in your room!" I burst out, still unable to reach intos Natsu's pocket.

Gray shook his head, looking disappointed, "No way. My room is off limits to anyone. ESPECIALLY to this Fire Pig over here."

"Why?" I ask, curious to why Gray doesn't want anyone in his room.

He shoots a glare at me, "It's. Off. Limits."
