Lucy's POV
"Hey, Lucy." I feel a nudge on my back as I wake up. "We're here, your home." I open my eyes, gaining the energy to lift myself up from Natsu's lap.
What was I doing on his lap anyways?
"Oh." I say plainly, remembering why we came here in the first place. "I'll get my luggage out of the back. Please wait for me." I explain as I open the door to the taxi as Natsu does the same.
I lift the suitcase and drag it out of the back. The taxi takes off as I do so.
"Okay, Lucy." Natsu sighs from behind me. "We're going in there together, okay?"
I nod as I grab onto his hand; making his face become a nice colour of red. "Okay, Natsu." I breathe in and out, getting prepared for what is ahead. We walk slowly down the pathway of stones and through the wooden door, into the main room of my house.
Everyone stares as me and Natsu walk in, and I observe the scene in front of us.
Loke, who seems so have arrived just minutes ago, is sitting on a chair. There is one doctor who is kneeling on the floor, looking over of a black haired, ill-looking woman who is lying on a white futon.
Kayla-sama.
Tears immediately start falling down my cheeks and onto the carpet below. Loke wasn't joking. Kayla's really dying.
I sob out loud while letting go of Natsu's hand and running toward my dearest. "Kayla!" I scream, "Please.. Tell.. What's.. Wrong..!" I manage to say, sobbing between each word.
"Oh, Lucy.." Kayla says, her voice sounding extremely weak, "I'm dying of a fever..."
"But.. Fevers are so easy to heal! Kayla don't think that you are dying!" I yell at her, tears falling down more quickly.
"Have you forgotten..? We don't have that kind of medicine here......" Kayla winces from the pain of the sickness.
"I could go back to North Magnolia! I'll get you all the medicine you need, Kayla-sama!" I declare as I cup Kayla's face with my palms.
Kayla shakes her head slowly. "I'm not going to last long, Lucy.."
"NO!" I scream, making everyone in the room flinch. "I'm not going to let you die, Kayla-sama! You're my caretaker, my mother!" I lean down to wrap my arm around Kayla's lying body. My tears are soaking the blanket,
"Lucy, Loke, I love you both.. Please don't cry.." Kayla say's weakly, but there was so much care put into her voice. I lift my head and turn to where Loke is sitting, revealing his eyes moist and puffy beneath his glasses.
"I was selfish..." I murmur quietly. "I was selfish to leave you guys! " I cry, hugging Kayla again. "If I haven't left, I could've taken care of you!"
"But if you didn't leave.." Kayla began, her voice sounding weaker than before. "You wouldn't of had the wonderful experience of being a high school student.. Or met that young man over there.." She motioned her eyes to Natsu, whose eyes were also becoming moist. "Is he the one....?" Kayla asked innocently.
Natsu's eyes widened as I nodded my head.
"Oh, Natsu...Take care of Lucy, if you will..." Kayla begs, her whole face now looking sickly.
Natsu nodded his head.
I swiftly look back at Kayla, who now has a cheeky smile over her face. "T-th-thank you.."
Those were the last words she said before she closed her eyes.
"Doctor-san!" Loke boomed, bolting out of his chair. "Tell me she's asleep, tell me Kayla-sama's alive!" He screamed, inching closer to the doctor's face.
"Nope." The doctor shook his head. "I'm sorry. But Kayla gone.." He lifted the blanket over her smiling, lifeless face.
"L-L-Loke.." I managed to say as I violently sobbed. "Sh-She's..." Before I could say anything else, Loke came running to me with his arms spread wide.
Together, we cried. Who couldn't at this situation?
I pulled away from his gently, tears still falling from my eyes. "I-I'm going to the lake.. To calm down.." And with that, I left, passing by Natsu.

Narrator
Lucy stood in front of the lake where she had grown up. Feeling the mist fly through her hair.
"So.." She mumbled to herself. "Kayla's gone too.."
"I'll see you soon, Kayla." Lucy smiled as she looked into the clouds. Little by little, she took smaller steps toward the water. Her last step landed in the water, and her rest of her body was ready to go along with it.
"NO!" She heard a voice behind, then felt a hard grasp around her wrist, preventing her from falling in.
The grasp immediately pulled her away from the deep body of water. Startled, yet full of anger, Lucy looked behind her, to reveal a some familiar spikey-pink-haired boy, huffing from running and pulling Lucy up.
"What did you think you were doing?!" The boy said with lots of hostility toward Lucy. "You don't want to die! You're too young!"
"Natsu.." Lucy said, shocked that he actually came for her.
"We're still young, we have lots of things to live for." Natsu stood up, then proceeding to put his hands on Lucy's shoulders. "The past may be painful, but we're going to have a good future, I promise you."
Lucy's eyes widened, and the flow of her tears stopped. "You.. You said the same thing to me 10 years ago.." Lucy smiled, wrapping her arms around Natsu's neck.
"I did, Lucy." He gave her a toothy smile as he wrapped his arms around Lucy's waist; pulling her closer.
"Can this be the time where I tell you all my feelings..?" Lucy asked willingly.
Natsu nodded his head.
"So.." She began, "I met you after the same scenario happened. Your words touched me, and I felt I could hold onto you forever. But the second day, you left me. You left.. After getting taken into the orphan's home, I went back to this lake every free time I had, hoping you would come back. You never did. A little while later, I met my father again. He told me to come to his new school, find out my talent. So when I did, I met you again. But you didn't seem to know it was me.. But you got me through so many hard times, in fact, if it wasn't for you, I would of died so many times. But you were only one that seemed to care for me, other than Cana Juvia or Levy, but you really did. Even after the Lisanna incident, you went through so much to apologize to me. I fell in love with you. But after making up with Lisanna, I couldn't tell you that it was me whom you've saved. I ran away. But, here we are. Together.. And I just want to tell you..
My feelings are present, living inside me. I love you Natsu, Please be mine!"
Natsu's smile got larger, and more happier. He chuckled a little, "Lucy, you know that I love you." He lower his head a little, reaching my lips with his.
And only to think we met 10 years ago. The saviour and the thankful one. Through all the love and heart breaks, We're here. In love and everlasting.
