What If

I slowly turned it over and-

gasped.

There were two pink lines.

All I could do was sit on the floor and think.

What if I'm a horrible mom? What if Barry doesn't want a kid? Even if he does, what it he doesn't want a kid with me? What if Barry doesn't love me anymore? What if Barry leaves me?

At that last thought, I finally let the tears escape.

A few minutes later, I finally pulled myself together. I gathered up everything, put it back into a plastic bag and ran home to Barry.

(Time skip to her apartment)

I saw Barry sitting on the couch and, as quietly as I could, I used my speed to set the pregnancy test on his knee and ran to hide behind the kitchen island.

I heard Barry pause his movie and I almost cried -again- because I heard him start to laugh.

Barry's POV

I paused my movie and looked at the thing on my knee.

I started to laugh and cry at the same time. Only Caitlin could run that fast, and I knew that we would be parents in just less than a year.

"Caitlin? Where are you?" I called, knowing that she would show up.

I turned around to see her stand up from behind the kitchen island.

"Are you mad?" she asked timidly, playing with the hem of her shirt like she always does when she gets nervous or scared.

I laughed and replied, "Caitlin, how could I be mad? This is the greatest thing that's ever happened to me, besides being able to tell you how much I love you every single morning, day, and night!"

She started to tremble and I rushed over to her and hugged her. "What's wrong Cait? Aren't you happy?"

"I dont know! I'm happy that you're happy, but what if it does, or what it-" she started, unable to finish due to her sobs.

I pulled back and lookex at her as I said, "Caitlin, that's not going to happen."

"But what if it does?"

"Then I'll be right here with you, 24/7." I hugged her again and her cries quieted.

"Barry?" she whispered.

"Mhm?"

"What if I turn out to be just like my mom?" she whispered so quietly, I almost missed her question.

"I know you won't. And if you so, I'll remind you of how perfect, sweet, and gorgeous you are, and how it's literally impossible for you to become even remotely like her." I assured her.

"Promise?" she asked.

"If course. I promise." I replied.

She wrapped her arms around my waist, and we stayed like that for a long, long time.
