Need You

Should've Listened To Me

I sat in my office and spun my chair around which left me dizzy. I stopped and groaned. I let my vision get back to normal. A knock at my door caused me to compose myself and be professional. "Come in", I said. The door open and it was my assistant. She handed me a letter that came addressed to me and left.

I looked at the white envelope that had my name in curved written on the front. I slowly opened it and it was a hand written note. It read:

"Dear dearest Ashlynn,    

It's great to see you trying to desperately get your exhusband into your children's lives. You life isnt going to be easy anymore. I'm watching your every move. You and your children are not safe anymore. Do one wrong move and you'll face consequences. Till we meet again. 

                   ~Unknown"

I reread the note then dropped it on my desk. I covered my face and breathed. This must be a sick joke. I tried to get myself out of this  dream I thought I was dreaming. I uncovered my face and it was still there. I took the note and ripped it up into shreds then threw it out. 

I grabbed my stuff and went to my car. I got in and drove to the daycare and got my kids. "Where are we going?", asked Issac as I got them into the car. "Let's go to the beach", I said as I buckled them in. I heard cheers from them. 

I got in and drove to the beach. In my trunk I kept an extra pair of swim suits for all of us just in case of an emergency. I got the bag and walked with them to the bathrooms and helped them change. They ran off towards the water as I walked to a nice shady area to put the towels down. 

As I put the towels and bag down I noticed a familiar group of people. It was the Blacks. Oh great. Just when I thought I will have a nice relaxing day. 

I ignored then completely and chased after the kids. "Not fairrrr you have long legssss", screamed Ivy as she giggled and ran away from me. I laughed and grabbed her from behind. "But mommy wants to kiss you", I said as I kissed her cheek.

She scrunched up her face as she eventually smiled. "Nasty", she said as she wiped her cheek. I smiled and put her down. She ran away from me. I laughed and walked along the shoreline while keeping the kids in eye distance.

 I saw Issac walking towards Xavier. I stood there quietly while watching them. Issac looked up at him and said something to him. I guess it's good they're "bonding"?

XAVIER'S POV:

Ashlynn's son looked at him then spoke, "You're tall." I looked down at him and smiled. "I am tall. One day you'll be as talk as me", I said as his eyes brightened as I said that. "Really?", he asked excitedly. I nodded. His smile turned big. He turned and saw Ashylnn. "Mommy I'm going to be as tall as him!", he said. She looked at him and smiled. "You're gonna be taller than me wow", she said as she walked closer to us. 

I refrained from looking at her body. I used to tell her that she had the perfect body. She looked at me then looked back at Issac who was rambling on to her. I watched them. This is gonna be my life. Two kids and co-parenting with my ex-wife. 

A little girl came and hugged Ashylnn's leg as she stayed quiet. I looked down at her. She had Ashylnn's black hair and dark eyes. She had my curls. I wonder if she had Ashlynn's or my attitude.

My phone beeped and it was an email. I opened the email and read it. It was from the DNA office. My mouth slowly opened. Omg. These kids were truly mine. I looked at them then back at my phone. 

Ashlynn made the kids go play and she turned to me. 

ASHYLNN'S POV:

I noticed Xavier's mouth slowly opened as he looked at my kids and his phone. I had the kids go make a sandcastle then I turned and looked at him. "Did the results come in?", I asked.

He nodded. I already knew what he was gonna say. "I'm not going into custody battle with you. We will figure this out," I said. He stood quiet as he nodded. The truth hurts. Should've listened to me.
