Elise Layton 👠

I go back next door and explain my dilemma to Blake. He tells me it's fine and that I can just go with him to the party instead. I'm not really sure how to tell him that I think it's a very bad idea and so I just go with it, like a complete idiot.

I have no idea how Vince will feel about me taking Blake with me to his party and I know that Kai will be furious.

The only solution I can come up with is to try and keep them apart throughout the party. Which is going to be a complete headache, but I'm all out of ideas.

After having some lunch and ignoring the questionable looks from my Aunt Donna after this mornings fiasco, I begin preparations to get ready for the party.

I pick out a gold, sequinned halter-neck dress and some beige open-toed heeled shoes. I find a matching gold clutch bag that I had from my cousin Jenna's wedding back in the U.K and think it'll be perfect to carry my phone.

Once I shower, curl my hair into loose ringlets and put my dress on I'm almost ready. There's one major thing I have to do but I've been procrastinating. I don't want to hear Jack use his dad voice on me but I'm going to need his help tonight.

I knock on his bedroom door cautiously and wait for a reply. When he doesn't respond I open it, walk in and can hear him singing his en-suite bathroom.

I put my ear to the closed door and have to stifle my laughter behind my hand. He's singing 'I'm too sexy' by that old music group 'Right Said Fred' and he's completely out of tune.

I walk over and sit on his bed to wait for him to come out. When he does he's still singing, into a hair-comb and I join in with his song, "I'm too sexy for my shirt, so sexy it hurts!" I wail along with him and he suddenly notices me. He screams and narrowly avoids dropping his towel.

His scream is so girly and I can't stop laughing, falling back on his bed.

"Elise, What the hell are you doing in here?!" He hollers at me.

I compose myself and try to keep a neutral face, "I really need your help tonight."

"With what?" He asks, putting down his microphone-comb.

"Well, Blake wants to take me to Vince's party as our date. Considering we can't go somewhere else tonight, I felt obliged to agree."

Jack is looking at me in disapproval and it's making me feel like I ran over his puppy.

"Okay, stop looking at me like that. It's making me feel really uncomfortable. I'm just trying to do the right thing here."

He takes a seat beside me on the bed, "fine. What can I help you with?"

"I can't let Blake and Kai come into contact with each other tonight. If they end up in the same room there will be a fight and the evening will be ruined." I bite down on my lip with worry.

"Elise are you crazy? It's a house party, it's not the labyrinth maze. What do you want me to do, hide Blake in my Mary Poppins handbag?" He shakes his head at me, flabbergasted.

I struggle not to laugh at how seriously he just said that, "No. I just need you to help me with keeping them apart. Distraction tactics and things like that."

Jack sighs heavily, "This is going to be like mission impossible...but you can count me in."

"Thank you!" I squeal and wrap him in a tight hug.
