hellos are scary, frightening things.
you're putting yourself out there for a stranger, hoping that they'll like you,
especially if you've already grown to enjoy their company.
it's as if placing a knife in their hand
and turning your back towards them,
saying, "hello, please don't stab me in the back and run away like everyone else has."
