the light
she is underwater,
sinking deeper
and deepertrying to swim,
trying to come up for a breath of air,but just keeps getting shoved down
further
and further.water filling her lungs –
She is drowning slowly,
but no one seems to notice.calling out for help,
for a hand to lift her from the deep abyss –
the dreaded abyss
that she has slowly and slowly been falling into, but no one does anything.
no one says anything.
they just watch.and they continue to push her,
push her until she reaches the bottom,
until she has nothing left to give.
they push her until she can finally see the light,
begging her to come into it.and she wants to.
and she does.— hrg
