matching brown eyes
across the room, my eyes wandered towards you
shifting of brown eyes that are a mirror's imagei swallow back the regret of years
i soak in the dreaded what ifs
time is fleeting
the years have washed over usthe sound of your words vibrate my existence
i've waited twenty years to hear that soundthe warmth of your embrace
a summer haze for a second
i'm frozen in timeyour tears were paralleled to mine
m heart fell into the world's gravity
this moment of seconds
frozen like the winter lakeswatching you walk away
wanting to say more
but being secured by the soundproof vault of my inner pain
the hate is empty insidei smile because you've learned the value of love
love you give your other kids
a ping of happiness that you became a man for othersgoodbye, my blood
goodbye, my stranger— e. gould
