A Series of Events

I'm Sorry

This one's dedicated to MillieHudson7 because without her comment I wouldn't have updated today. ( You are a girl right? I assumed because your username was Millie. Comment and say otherwise if I'm wrong and I'll fix it.) 

- Violet- 

I watched Klaus, Isadora and Sunny go out the door. Then I sighed and turned to Duncan. 

" Vi." Duncan said. 

I wanted to stay here. I wanted to forget about getting a job. But I couldn't. 

" How are we supposed to survive?" I asked Duncan, hating myself when my voice broke at the end. 

Duncan walked closer. " Vi, I've already lost you once. I- I can't lose you. Not again." 

I could feel the tears stat to pool in my eyes and I furiously blinked, trying to make them disappear. Finally, I couldn't take it. Everything was so hard.  

Duncan moved closer and his hand moved to cup my cheek, his thumb brushing over my tears. 

Duncan sighed. " Okay." 

I looked up. " What?" 

" Me and you." He said. " We'll get jobs. We'll have to pass for older than we are."

" That won't be hard." I promised him. 

" But Isadora." Duncan said. I knew what he was thinking. 

" And Klaus." I said. 

" Can't work." Duncan finished. I nodded. 

I knew how he felt. Like h had to protect Isadora. Even f they were the same age. He had already lost Quigley. 

" I'm sorry." I whispered, moving up so my face was pressed into Duncan's neck. 

"Me too." He said. " So sorry." 

I smiled up at him before slowly moving closer. Our lips touched and it was just a whisper of a kiss before I pulled away. 

" We'll tell hem tonight." I said. " And go get jobs in the morning." 

Duncan nodded. " What if-" He started. " Maybe I could make enough for us." 

I shook my head. " No." 

" But-" Duncan protested. 

" 1. We have already screwed up yours and Isadora's life enough. You could've stayed at school." 

I could see Duncan about to protest so I moved on. 

"2. Things are expensive. You would be worked to the bone trying to make enough for five people. Especially because we're starting out with nothing."  

Duncan sighed, and pulled me in for another kiss. A real one this time. I sighed against his lips. This was the only place I felt safe. 

Sorry this ones so short. I had to go to Church and now I have to paint my bookshelves out in the cold garage. And to top it off it's snowing. I wish I could stay here and Keep Writing.
