The BNHA Cult is actually two cults, one run by heroes and one run by villains. Both believe that they are entitled to their darlings but for very different reasons. There are certain differences and certain similarities but...

Both are equally dangerous. Both groups should be feared.

The cults have been operating secretly for years, slowly growing in numbers and powers as centuries go by. While they oppose each other as heroes and villains, they tend to leave one another alone as cults (unless someone's darling is hurt or taken, then it's game on). Each cult has had ups and downs but right now, they are at the peak of their power...

The Hero Cult: The cult doesn't see its self as such a thing.

Cults are evil and they are not evil! They're simply heroes who feel that they should be rewarded for their brave service...and what better reward then a darling of their own? There's a hint of entitlement here but their reasoning is deeper then that. Many heroes believe that they are improving their darling's lives by taking them.

Aren't they safer here? No villains, no danger, just love!

Isn't that just perfect?

The laws of the cult are incredibly strict. Firstly, they are invitation only. Most new members are scouted through hero schools (some, however, are born into the cult and trained up by a yandere parent). They look for the best of the best and once they find them...they encourage them. They seek out a little seed of yandere tendencies and encourage it, letting it grow and grow until...they're ready. New members are tested for a year before being fully initiated and given perks.

Perks that include assistance and advice to capturing your darling. Places for darlings to be kept before being brought dome, mentors to teach them to be the perfect yandere. Yanderes will be paired with similar types (example, obsessives paired with other obsessives) and taught the laws of the cult. They frown upon killing darlings (as well as most other people, but they understand that mistakes will be made) and being "too harsh" on them. Because they believe that darlings are weak and need to be taken care of, they often see themselves are providers.

Which allows them to excuse everything that they do.

Why is darling freaking out over being kidnapped? Our new home is so much nicer!

Sure, I beat up that boy you like but! He's not good enough for you!

Don't fight me, darling, I'm doing this all for you!

They really do believe it, that it's all somehow good. That it's all for love and there for all okay. There are very few violent yanderes in this cult (violence to an extreme is deeply frowned upon), mostly just obsessive and delusional yanderes really. They have no specific compound (there are some common meeting places) though some Hero yanderes have gotten together and built bases of a kind. Some even live together with their darlings. Yanderes who kill darlings (or innocent people) are often punished and forced out of the cult. The Villain cult may be a somewhat more dangerous group but the heroes have a certain edge:

No one will ever believe you.

Who on earth would believe that All Might has been keeping you locked up in a penthouse? Or that Shoto has kidnapped you? Why on earth would any of these heroes or students ever do such a horrible thing?

Not a soul will ever believe your story and that's their secret weapon. It's why so many of them are fueling the "perfect hero" image, because it helps the cult.

The Villain Cult: At least they can admit to what they are.

While the heroes make a hundred and one excuses to why they do what they do, the Villain Cult simply tells the plain truth: they do what they want, take what they want and no one can ever stand in their way. They know they are being selfish, they know they are being cruel, and they really don't care.

They love it.

And once they are done with you, you'll love it too. They believe that they are simply entitled to their darlings and anyone who gets in their way can rightly fuck off.

They have some rules but not many.

They are a much more laid back cult, though some members have formed a darker, much more serious sect of it. The basic (and most important) rule of the cult is "don't let it get traced back to us." They don't care much about how darlings are treated (though some yanderes will step in if they think another member is taking things too far) or what the members do on their own time in general. They do support one another, however, and will quietly help with anything needed.

Killed somebody? Well, make sure you get ride of the evidence properly. We've got a pretty good dumping ground if you need it.

Kidnapped your darling and need to lay low? Here's the location of a safe house, just make sure you're not being traced.

Oh, your darling escaped? We can track 'em down easy, got a guy who's real good at that.

Membership can only be achieved through another member. Most are not really scouted, more like stumbled upon. They are often young yanderes who aren't sure of what they are doing...when an older, more efficient yandere takes them under their wing. It often works as, not only yandere training, but as a way of introducing someone to both the cult and villain activity. Some, however, are scouted. If they stumble upon a kid with a powerful quirk and a bit of yandere in them, well...it's just fates way of introducing them to the proper path, isn't it?

Unlike the heroes, they don't pretend that what they are doing is good in anyway. They don't bother lying to themselves.

Sure, a few delusional yanderes might convince themselves of such a thing! But the majority of the cult is made up of violent, manipulative, dangerous yanderes who know exactly what they are doing.

In some ways, they are the more dangerous cult. They have dark connections and are willing to do much more then their hero counterparts in order to get what they want. But of course, it's much easier for one of their members to get caught and have their darlings taken away (don't worry, other members will keep an eye on free darlings while their buddy is in jail).

But with either cult...they are both the stuff of nightmares. One hides behind a pretty face, the other hides in the shadows. Both are willing to do what is needed in the name of a dark, twisted idea of love...
