"Calling all cats old enough to catch prey to gather for a clan meeting!"
That phrase had been said a lot recently. It had been a moon already. Nuttree walked over to the rock. Stormstar sat on the rock, her tail neatly resting on her paws. Nuttree looked around at all the cats and spotted Laketoes in the crowd. I haven't spoken to Laketoes for a while. I miss her.
Also in the crowd was Darkenedfur. Nuttree missed him too, but not in the same way. She missed the old Darkenedfur.
Her gaze lifted back to Stormstar. The GreenClan leader had a smug expression on her face. She looked around and saw that she had all of her Clan's attention. "Good morning, GreenClan. Today I have a few announcements. This first one being the most important." All eyes were on her. "Alright. So, Blackberry and I have planned out the attack on DawnClan. We'll attack at d-"
"Excuse me, Stormstar, but why are we even attacking DawnClan is the first place? Like, they did stuff to us, but that was a while ago." That was Shadowmist speaking.
Stormstar glared at the dark grey warrior. "Excuse me, Shadowmist, but you were named that name only a moon ago!"
"So? You made Blackberry deputy less than a moon after he joined."
Stormstar unsheathed her claws, her eyes filled with rage. Shadowmist didn't look the least bit intimidated.
Stormstar took a deep breath. "Shadowmist, I make the rules here, for I am Clan leader." Shadowmist's eyes were slits, but all did was mutter the word "okay." Stormstar seemed pleased that Shadowmist didn't have a comeback to that. "As I was saying, we will attack at dawn. And like I said in the last meeting, if any elders or queens want to show their loyalty to GreenClan by fighting alongside the warriors and apprentices, they are free to do so." Nuttree hackles still rose when Stormstar said that. She was breaking the warrior code by pressuring the non warriors and apprentices to fight. "Anyways, two more apprentices will be named today." Nuttree's spirit lifted when she knew it was Leopardkit, Cloudkit and Adderkit that were getting their apprentice names! She was so excited for them and hoped she would mentor one of them. If she got one of them as her apprentice, they would be her first ever apprentice! She was so excited!
"Adderkit, come forward." He did so professionally. "Your name will be Adderpaw, and you will be mentored by Smallbolt." Smallbolt looked proud. "Smallbolt, you are a great warrior and I expect you to pass on your knowledge to Adderpaw" Stormstar meowed. Adderpaw walked to Smallbolt and they touched noses.
"And Leopardkit" Stormstar spoke again. "Your mentor will be Darkenedfur. Your name is now Leopardkit."
Disappointment flooded through Nuttree. She really wanted Leopardpaw to be her apprentice, not Darkenedfur's! But still, Leopardpaw's cheerfulness comforted her. The yellow coloured apprentice hopped towards Darkenedfur. Darkenedfur slowly bent over to touch noses with Leopardpaw.
Stormstar nodded. "This meeting is over. Return to your duties."

Blackberry was announcing patrols and Nuttree hoped to be picked; she would have a chance to visit Milo again. "Okay, let's see..." Blackberry searched the crowd of warriors. "How about... Tigerstripe, Whitestripe and I?" Nuttree let out a heavy sigh.
The three cats went for the exit of camp. Nuttree really wished she was chosen for patrols. Oh well. Another time I guess.
She knew she could use this time to visit Snowstorm, Pebblekit, Swankit and Ravenkit! So she hopped to the nursery, excited to see how her friend and her kits were doing. When she arrived, Brownpaw was padding out of the nursery, a leaf in his mouth. "Good morning, Brownpaw!" Nuttree purred. "What are you doing?" Brownpaw lowered his head to place the leaf on the ground. "Hello, Nuttree. I am just fetching some borage for Greyfoot."
"Oh, is she doing alright?" Nuttree asked. She forgot what borage was for.
"Oh, she's fine. She's just a little stressed and she's not producing enough milk."
"Okay. Can I see Snowstorm?"
Brownpaw nodded and picked up his leaf again. He padded away.
Nuttree happily walked into the nursery. She quickly spotted Snowstorm. The beautiful queen was laying down while Swankit and Pebblekit play fought. Ravenkit watched them longingly. Nuttree padded toward them. Ravenkit looked fearfully at Nuttree. She smiled at him. "Hi there, Ravenkit!" She mewed. He gave a little smile. "H-hey."
"Remember me?" Nuttree asked him.
"Um..."
She chuckled. "It's okay if you forgot. I'm Nuttree, your mother's friend."
"Okay."
Nuttree wasn't really sure what to say now. "So... how do you get along with your sisters?" The small kit looked in their direction sadly. "They don't like me very much..."
"Aw, I'm sure that's not true!"
"It is. They say I look like father, and father was a bad guy"
Nuttree frowned. She guessed Snowstorm must have vented to her kits. She would have to talk to her about that later. Later.
Nuttree sat down and licked Ravenkit's ear. Ravenkit beamed up at her. Nuttree wondered why Ravenkit was so happy after just a comforting gesture. Had Snowstorm not been comforting him? Suddenly, Swankit jumped onto Ravenkit. Ravenkit squealed while Pebblekit giggled and meowed "you caught a mouse!"
Nuttree gave a low growl. "Swankit, Pebblekit, that's not very nice." Swankit got off her brother and looked up at Nuttree with confusion. Pebblekit looked up as well. "Swankit, when you play with someone you have to give them a warning, not just pounce on them when they're not expecting it. Pebblekit, Ravenkit isn't a mouse."
Swankit sighed. "Sorry" she muttered. "I'm sorry" Pebblekit mewed. Nuttree smiled. "Do you forgive them, Ravenkit?" He nodded. "I forgive you." Nuttree smiled. "Okay, I guess my work here is done. One of you tell Snowstorm I dropped by, will you?" Swankit loudly announced "I will!"
"I'll tell her!" Pebblekit argued.
Ravenkit stepped forward. "Can I do it?"
Nuttree shook her head and chuckled. "I'll see you around, guys."
"Bye, Nuttree!"
