-two weeks later, 9pm-

"I'm not going to the party." Violet repeated stubbornly, crossing her arms.

"Please?"

"No."

"PLEASE?"

"It'll make my ears hurt."

"But your girlfriend will be there." Louis coaxed, raising a teasing eyebrow.

"She's NOT my girlfriend." Violet growled, turning red in the face. Clem and Violet had been on plenty of casual dates for the past two weeks, but it wasn't "official", as Brody would say.

Louis smirked at his friend, pushing her lightly on the shoulder. "She might as well be."

Violet rolled her eyes and scoffed. "Why do you want me to go, anyway?"

"You need to get out more, Vi. Have some fun. Relax a little."

"I can relax just fine here, at home."

Violet's phone buzzed in her back pocket. She pulled it out, turning bright red as she saw who it was from.

Clemmy, 9:24 p.m
hey Vi, you going to the party?

Louis smirked. "That's from Clementine, isn't it?"

"Shut up, leech."

Me, 9:24 p.m

Clemmy, 9:25 p.m
cmon, itll be fun
we don't have to hangout with EVERYONE

"Well?" Louis asked, a shit-eating grin on his face. She shushed him with another glare.

Me, 9:25 p.m
...fine

Violet sighed, shoving her phone back into her pocket. "Yes. Yes, I'll go."

Louis pumped his arm in a mini-celebration. "Let's ride."

When they got to the frat house an hour later, you could already feel the bass to the music. Or at least, that's what it felt like to everyone else. To Violet, it felt like someone was repeatedly screaming three inches from her ear.

She groaned. "This is gonna be an experience."

A familiar arm wrapped around her neck in a gentle headlock, ruffling her hair. "What's up, shithead?"

Mitch. She growled, struggling to get his arm off of her neck. "'Sup, fuckface?"

"You two, cut it out." A somewhat-motherly voice interjected. The two stopped wrestling, ending it with a rough shove. Brody appeared in her line-of-sight, looking quite irritated at the two's childish antics.

"Yes, ma'am." Mitch said sarcastically, mock-saluting.

"Aye-aye, captain." Violet echoed, sticking out her tongue. Brody rolled her eyes, pulling the girl into a short hug.

"Where's Ruby?"

Brody scoffed. "She's at home. For emergency purposes only. She has an essay to write that's due in, like, three days."
