The Baudelaire's and the Quagmire's got out of Mr. Poe's car anxiously. Not only had they never met Count Olaf their parents also never mentioned him making them even more suspicious.

"Here we are orphans! Your new home!" Mr. Poe rang the doorbell of the tall, dark, worn down, sinister looking mansion. A man with a unibrow and a tattoo of an eye on his ankle slowly opened the door.

"Ah, the Baudelaire's!" The Count laughed evilly. "Wait one, two, three, four, five, six." He counted them. "I ordered three." Count Olaf snorted.

"But you adopted six." Mr. Poe replied as he started coughing. Count Olaf rolled his eyes and motioned for the kids to come inside. They did hesitantly before the door was slammed in the bankers face.

"Hi I'm Isadora and this is my..."

"Don't care." Count Olaf cut Isadora off. "I'll probably just kill one or two of you anyway." Olaf laughed slightly.

"Wha-what?" Isadora squeaked.

"You brats have chores to do." Count Olaf said handing them a list longer than the height of all three Quagmire's stacked on top of each other.

"You expect us to do all of that?" Quigley questioned.

"There are six of you and 180 chores you each have to do..." Count Olaf thought for a minute. "300 chores!"

"Umm actually.." Klaus began.

"Umm actually don't care." Olaf interrupted. He turned on his heel and walked up the stairs.

"He didn't even give us a tour of the place." Duncan growled.

"Maybe we just need to give him a chance." Isadora chimed in.

"Maybe he needs to treat us less like servants and more like his children." They all laughed at Violet's comment.

"What's even on the list?" Quigley asked.

"Clean the toilet with your toothbrushes, make dinner, fix bird cage for holding babies, mend wedding dress...." Violet read off 176 more chores.

"Well we better get to work." Isadora said picking up a bucket of cleaning materials she saw on the floor.

The Baudelaire's and Quagmire's spent all day cleaning, mending, and cooking. This gave them a chance to look at the house thoroughly some things were suspicious.....
