I don't own anything, not the characters and barely the plot.

The next day school started again and it, almost, felt like she could live a normal life, then she thought about the team, Octavian and all that she'd done and the thought of a possible normal life was brushed aside.

Currently, she was in history. She tried to not zone off, she really did, but the teacher just kept droning on, words on words, knowledge on knowledge. Percy knew that it was only natural for teachers to do this, to cram as much knowledge inside the student's brains per lesson, to prepare them for the outside world.

Some classes were more important to her than others after all many classes were actually needed to be a hero. You didn't need to plan, attack, defend among other things.

Percy was glad that she had Alicia sitting beside her in every class, so if she did zone off, Alicia could poke her and get her to focus on the lesson.

During those times she did zone off for a while she found herself thinking about hero stuff, which may be kind of obvious. She wondered when Octavian would strike again, what he would do. There were so many things she didn't know but wanted to know so desperately.

During lunch Percy found herself only poking at the food, not bothering to eat much.

"Hey Percy, are you okay?" Alicia asked, seeing how little Percy was eating.

"I'm fine," Percy mumbled.

"Whatever you say," Alicia replied. "Whatever floats your boat."

"I don't need a boat, I can breathe underwater," Percy joked.

"It's a-"

"I know, I know. It was a joke."

"Oh."

Percy found Alicia's confusion funny and entertaining, but, nonetheless how entertaining it was she wouldn't try to confuse her for her own amusement. That would just be cruel.

"Pft. I knew that," Alicia quickly added.

"Sure you did," Percy said.

After school she found herself in her room, at the mountain, doing homework. Homework, one of the many things she found annoying. The letters kept dancing all over the pages and so did the numbers.

She groaned and rested her head on the desk.

"This sucks," she said to no one, but herself.

If only Annabeth were here, she thought. As soon as the words crossed her mind she regretted them. She was moving on, had moved on. She knew that it was going to take a while for her to get over their deaths, but not this long. Will I ever get over them? She asked herself. Today was one of her doubtful days, where she doubted herself, her worth and her efforts, especially during the Second Giant War. What more could I've done? If I had been better, where would I be now? Those types of questions crossed her mind. She tried to ignore them, brush them away, she really did, but it was no use. Her eyes burned slightly as they watered up, a single tear rolling down her left cheek, followed by one on her right cheek, which was only followed by more. Before she knew it the tears were streaming down her cheeks. She knew she'd been mourning them more now than she had for a while, and she was positive it had to do with Octavian. It felt like he was a living reminder of how she'd failed them. He just kept taunting and haunting her, his words echoed over her mind... she'd failed them, she knew that. Octavian just... made it worse.

When the tears had finally come to a stop she dried her face off with the sleeve on her shirt.

She continued with her homework, ignoring the tear stains on her paper. The teachers would probably think it was a few drops of rain, or maybe water, normal water, not water from tears.

-

When she'd finally finished her homework she put it back in her backpack so she wouldn't forget to bring it to school tomorrow.

She walked out to the kitchen, on days like these, the days full of doubt, the team really helped. They all helped, in their separate ways. Megan helped with her over-enthusiastic personality. She was always so kind and helped her forget, momentarily, about them, about how she'd failed them.

Kaldur helped her by being to understanding. He knew what she'd gone through, how much they had meant to her, how much they still mean to her, even if they weren't here to know it anymore.

Superboy helped in a way she didn't completely understand. It was something about him, his personality, the way he acted as if nothing bothered him, in a sort of way. Honestly, Percy wouldn't be able to explain it even if she tried her best.

Robin helped with his personality as well, how he butchered the English language and his jokes. How he could shine through the darkest hours, how he knew what to do, how he was cool in practically every situation they were in.

Wally helped her with his jokes, and his personality, it seemed like they all did, and they did. He reminded her of Leo. Leo. He was supposed to come back, but she remembered how she saw the vial that would save him, bring him back, slip away from him... towards the ground. It was gone now, Leo was as well.

Artemis helped her in many ways, it was nice to have a superhero friend who was her gender. Sure, Megan was her friend as well, but she just felt a little closer to Artemis, why? Maybe, Megan was a little too enthusiastic, maybe not.

She joined the team in the living room, as the tv was on and playing some sort of show or movie, she didn't know, and right now.... she didn't care. She had the team, her friends, and that's all that mattered.
