The days following Eliza and Alexander's conversation were very tense. Though neither them would admit this fact, it was a fact, there was a lot of tension between the two. Eliza didn't want to admit to even herself that she actually felt something for Alexander. While Alexander was too stubborn to tell Eliza how crazy about he really was.
The days started and ended and soon the day came when Angelica was joining them. Eliza had a confused mixture of excitement and dread when it came to her sister joining them on the campaign. Angelica had convinced her littler sister to bring the infamous Alexander Hamilton to pick her up from the airport, which Eliza agreed to reluctantly.
So here they were, awkwardly standing next to each other as they waited for Angelica near baggage claim, right next a loud Starbucks café. Eliza wasn't entirely sure how she'd gotten to this point in her life but she knew for sure that wished could just disappear.
"Lizzy!" Voice That She identified as her older sister could be heard. As her eyes came back into focus she saw Angelica just before she was pulled into a tight hug.
"Hey Angie." She said as she hugged her back, giving a small squeeze.
"And you..." started Angelica as she pulled away easily from Eliza's embrace, directing herself to Alexander. "You are Alexander."
"Yup, that's me." He said with a small nod before sticking his hand out to her. "It's nice to finally meet you."
"And you..." she said to, chancing to look him up and down. "You know we should all go out tonight, have a little celebration." She announced as she let for of Alexander's hand.
"Why?" Alexander asked looking confused, glancing to Eliza to see if she may have an answer but she just shrugged.
"Well it's my first night here, we're all in a new town it might be nice to have a little fun."
"We have our celebrations in the last day." Eliza told Angelica. "On the first night we stay in, order take out, work on the speech."
"You stay in?" Angelica asked looking disappointed.
"Yeah, Alexander reads the draft of the speech like Washington. I do fact checking, Alexander makes everything sound elegant." Eliza continued on with a smile as she thought about it.
"Oh..." Angelica said with a slow nod. "Right, well if you don't mind, we could change it up a bit?"
Eliza looked at Alexander this time who shrugged exactly as she had. "Well... I suppose, it could be fun..."
"No. It will be fun." Angelica corrected grinning at them both. "Now let's go."
The rest of the day went along without too much trouble, of course Eliza was finding it hard to concentrate on anything when she could hear Angelica flirting with Alexander. It was just weird, her sister was flirting with Alexander. Just the thought of it made her stomach twist into a tight knot.
When it came time to go out, Eliza had decided to wear something simple, a dark blue dress and a matching cardigan. Angelica didn't do the same she wore something that made her look sophisticated and sexy. So when Alexander came to 'pick them up', he stared at Angelica not Eliza, he told Angelica that she looked stunning not Eliza. And Alexander did all of this because he thought that's exactly what Eliza wanted him to do.
The rest of the night wasn't much better, when they actually got to the bar Angelica and Alexander were so caught up in talking to each other they barely noticed Eliza. She just sat there at the bar, right next to Angelica and nobody said a word to her. So she murmured something about going to the bathroom which neither of them responded to, then walked away with her drink to find an empty table.
She hated this, watching her sister from the corner of the bar flirting with Alexander. It was just weird, Alexander was basically her best friend and no one wanted to see their best friend flirting with their sister. It was awkward and uncomfortable and would make anyone uncomfortably sick.
So she ignored them, it was the bet she could do. If she payed then any more attention her stomach would form a Gordian knot. She sulked in the corner, drinking cheap beer eating chips and pretending that she had no feelings for Alexander. She stayed in her spot until she decided it was getting late, and that they should all probably head back.
Eliza sat out to the look for the two in the now crowded bar so she could just get into her pjs and sleep. While she was carefully maneuvering through the crowd she saw them, Alexander and her sister making out in a corner of the bar. She thought that they'd get on but she didn't think this would happen so fast, she thought she'd have time to adjust to the idea before she saw them shoving their tongue down each other's throats.
But she couldn't think about that anymore. She was just going back to the hotel, those two could find their own way back. Besides from the looks of it they wouldn't want her company back anyways. Angelica and Alexander were together, how fun.
