After everything at Pop's, Kai approached Jughead and Betty. "What the hell is going on!" She exclaimed at the blond.

Betty shook her head, "I honesty have no idea."

Jughead glanced between the two girls, "When did you become friends?"

Kai shrugged, "Since I made her tell me everything she knows about what you two are doing."

Betty sighed, shoving her hands in her pockets. "That's about it."

_________
Kai remembers that as clear as day. Now, herself and Betty were sitting in a booth at Pop's, early in the morning.

Jughead arrived a few minutes later, settling in on Kai's side of the booth, "Sorry, there's no service in the bowels of City Hall."

"What'd you find? Any truth to what that creepy truck driver said about that murdered family?" Kai remembered Betty filling her in on how he was delivering a shipment for Penny Peabody - which she's still angry about - and a truck driver started talking about a family who was murdered in their home, with apparently one survivor.

"Yes, shockingly, Freddy Krueger didn't lie to me. A family of 4 was murdered, it was someone that the press called the "Riverdale Reaper." Kai cursed under her breath.

"The victims were Jim and Mary Ellen Conway and their kids." He sighed, "Tommy was ten, and Sue was nine. Reaper was never caught or identified, so he could be our Black Hood, but I'm dubious."

Kai scaratched the back of her neck, "He would be in his late 60's by now, right?" She questioned. Jughead nodded, confirming her answer. "Why would he do it... Kill them?"

Jughead went back to explaining, "The reporter of the article talked to a sheriff at the time who thought... Killer chose them at random, or because their house was isolated."

Betty leaned forward, "Where was it?"

Kai looked down at the paper, "Edge of Fox Forest, down some service road." Jughead read off of the newspaper. "There's a picture of it."

She unfolded the paper, "Oh, my god. Jughead, Kai... I've been to this house."

Kai looked up from her folded hands, "The Black Hood sent me to it, as part of his game."

Kai placed her hands in the table, "That establishes the link between the Hood and the Reaper." Jughead spoke up, "We should talk to Keller, and pull the field from the murder. At least get a list of all the players."

Betty sighed, "No, Jughead, I can't go to sheriff Keller. Not after I accused him of being the Black Hood."

Jughead hit the table softly, leaning back. "Yeah, that would be awkward. You could go to the house." Jughead suggested.

Betty shook her head, "I can't go back there, Jug. He made me look in a mirror, you know what I saw looking back at me... I don't want to do that again."

Jughead held Betty's hands, "You don't have to okay?" A cellphone ringing knocked Kai from her thoughts. Jughead picked up the phone, accepting the call.

He relaxed when he heard who was talking, "Yeah I'll accept the charges."

________
Jughead and Betty called over Veronica and Archie, Kai stood off to the side awkwardly. "My dad's getting out of jail." Jughead smiled.

"Jug that's... That's great." Archie said. Kai smiled at the news even though she heard it before.

"Yeah, what heralded this miracle?" Veronica questioned, grinning brightly.
