She was awake, she hadn't slept all night. It wasn't like she was excited, it was just that she was confused why she had to lie to her friends. Her mom had always told her, lying was bad. That lying will always get her into trouble, but the worst of all it would make her loose people. And now it was her mom that had asked this of her.
Julias relationship with her mom was estranged, they loved but in rations. They had never had a heated argument, they never laughed and snuggled up like you would expect a twelve year old. Julia was the child every single mom would pray for, no tantrums, no demands, always obedient and unimaginably understanding.
