"What are you doing?" Yuta asked as he took a seat next to the little girl outside the house. As usual, she was caught up with her drawings but soon enough she got bored and took out a book.
Hayoung started to flip the pages and went silent, not bothering to answer his question. She was absorbed in her own activity. "Do you know what it says?" Yuta asked, the children won't know. They had no education.
'She ran down the stairs, her quick feet almost caused herself to stumble—'
He managed to catch the words before the girl brought the book closer to her face and impressively read it to him.
"She ran down the stairs, her quick feet almost caused herself to stumble and unfortunately, one shoe got left out."
Hayoung smiled proudly as she closed the book and looked at him. "Wow, you're very smart." Yuta smiled in reply, she got it correct. The girl can read and it was something rare.
"Who taught you?" He asked. "Eunmi did." Hayoung replied before going back to reading and before the male could ask further, the named girl appeared from inside the house.
Snap.
The guy in front of her blinked a few times, he only realised he was caught redhanded staring at her. "You... changed your hair?" He wanted to compliment her but instead came out a question.
"Yes, I did." Seora beamed. "It's time to be different from the rest of the crowd." She smiled before walking ahead of him. Yuta on the other hand, couldn't contain his smile. The girl looked absolutely stunning, her dark hair made her skin shine, exposing each and every detail of her face, making it easier for him to admire her.
He didn't see her for weekends and yet here she was, standing before him more breathtaking than ever.

Seora was busying herself by organising the messy counter she had left over the weekend. Yuta was just nearby as they received no new books yet. There wasn't much to do.
As she was close to done, she looked up for a while for any upcoming customers and before she could register there was none. She found a man standing before her.
Her heart almost stopped when she realised it was Doyoung. Seora had changed her appearance, she even tied her hair, something she always hated to do before. However, it was her proof to show him, or anyone who knows her that she wasn't Seora.
Tying her hair meant exposing her birthmark, and Eunmi wasn't afraid to tie her hair as she had no birthmark to hide. Seora forced herself into a smile, she had to stay calm and clueless or she was done for.
"Yes, how may I help you?"
She asked, trying not to sound nervous. However, Doyoung's silence was killing her. The male was examining her, trying to prove her identity. Seora prayed she did a decent job of covering herself. "There's a defect in the book I purchased yesterday." He said and handed the book to her.
The princess took it, but she couldn't retreat her hand as Doyoung wouldn't let go of the book. He wanted to see a ring, or any sign of a bracelet. However, before he could examine further, another hand pulled the book away.
"Oh, you're from yesterday." Yuta smiled, standing ever so close to the girl. Luckily, he was taller, giving Seora a little comfort to hide herself from Doyoung's stare. "Is there a problem?" Yuta asked. He wouldn't let his gaze down from the man either. He didn't like how he was eyeing Eunmi.
"Actually, there's nothing. Thank you." Doyoung monotonously said before leaving the shop. Yuta almost glared but he decided not to. "Are you okay? What did he want?" He asked Eunmi instantly. "He wanted to change his journal, I'm fine." Seora replied.
Her heart was beating wildly, she prayed she didn't show any sign of vulnerability that would expose her identity. She took a big risk making eye contact with that bodyguard, but Doyoung wouldn't tell the prince if he had no proof. He wouldn't want to give the prince hope.

"Doyoung!"
At the call of his name, the male turned around to find Jaehyun jogging towards him. "My daughter loved the gift so much, she wouldn't untie her hair." Jaehyun said which instantly lifted up the other male's mood, breaking into a smile.
"I'm glad to hear that." He commented. "I'll have to repay you, it was too kind of you." Jaehyun added. "Oh, do not. You'll make me look insincere." He joked, it wasn't directly from him, so he wasn't supposed to receive any form of gratitude from Jaehyun.
Before the two could further chat, they found maids and a physician running towards the king's chamber. It wasn't a positive sign, it must be that his body was acting up again.
Lately, the king's condition was getting worse. It was one of the factors why Doyoung wanted to find the princess so badly, she must see her father.
Jaehyun on the other hand felt guilty, he had to hide it from Seora or else the princess would risk it all to sneak into the palace to see her father for the last time. It was cruel, but she needed to survive. Especially not when they have no idea what the queen has in plan next.
"Excuse me." Doyoung motioned to Jaehyun as the prince had called for him. Jaehyun nodded slightly before getting back to his work.
As Doyoung approached the prince's library, he knocked before coming in. He was about to speak when the prince did it first. "I know how to bring her back." Taeyong said, puzzling the bodyguard.
"The riddle, I have to prove it." He said. "The queen is trying to murder her, so that her daughter can take the throne." He said. It wasn't a surprise to Doyoung, he had his suspicions too but they had no proof.
"I need you to spy on the queen." He said. "Your Highness, that's impossible. She would find out instantly." Doyoung said, he didn't mind getting caught but the prince would be at stake and their countries would end up in a fight.
"It won't be that difficult." Taeyong smiled slightly. "I told her I took interest in Hara, she's lowering her guard." The prince added. The idea of him lying to be interested in such girl was horrendous but Doyoung wasn't in position to say so.
"Gather anything you can, and report everything to me. Do not act on your own, I don't want you to lose your life because of me." Taeyong said before excusing his trusted man.
The prince stared at the wedding rings they were supposed to wear by now. He kept it safe, the only thing he had left of her, along with the letter. She told him not to seek for her, but he wanted to. He will bring justice to her family.
