"Eunmi, when will the flowers bloom?"
At the sudden question, the princess glanced outside. Snow had dry away, anytime soon the lilacs would bloom as most had already emerge. She recalled how Hayoung was very keen to see the lilacs, otherwise she kept saying her dreams were a lie.
She gave the little girl a small smile, "It's coming soon, I promise I'll bring you to see them." She said whilst combing her hair. It was already spring, but lilacs took a little longer to bloom and it made the little girl eager to watch.
"Where's Yuta?" Hayoung asked, usually the male would've arrived at their house by now. "I don't know." Eunmi replied as she tied Hayoung's hair into a ponytail.
"Remember what you're doing today?" Eunmi asked the girl, as a reminder. "I'll help Grandpa to clean the front garden and then I finish the first volume of the book." "Good girl." Eunmi cupped the girl's cheek.
Somehow or rather, her actions reminded herself of her mother. She used to get compliments from her a lot, she was showered with love from the queen and it all abruptly disappeared when she died. The princess suffered from a very painful loss to adapt.
The princess then glanced outside again, to see any sign of her partner but he was awfully late today. She decided to go outside and check properly for him but as she stepped outside she could see that he was giddily walking towards the house.
He was dressed very neatly, he looked like a nobleman. Seora was confused to why was he behaving this way. The male looked so carefree, as if he didn't realise that they were late for work.
"Yuta!" Hayoung called out for him as she ran outside to greet him. The male gave her a high five, and the two made their way towards Seora who was standing at the doorstep.
The princess had her arms crossed, she was somehow annoyed on how clueless he was acting. "Are you angry?" Yuta asked so easily, "Is that an angry gesture you're doing?" He asked again, as if he was teasing her.
"You're late." Seora replied, trying not to pout but her eyebrows were furrowed. "No, I'm not." He replied with a genuine smile. "You're no— you can see the sun is up, we're awfully late." She reasoned, rolling her eyes.
Yuta had the urge to chuckle as he stepped closer to her. He had one hand holding her upper arm, which strangely, she didn't flinch. "Eunmi, we don't have work today." He said with a grin. "Today's the festival, remember?" He asked, his voice was awfully gentle she didn't know if he was mocking her or if he was being real.
Somehow, she felt embarrassed the fact that she forgot and the fact that he was standing awfully close to her again. Seora hummed in annoyance, as she pushed the male away and went inside to change. She could almost hear his silly grin over the embarrassing moment she had just now.
As the princess shut the door behind her, she realised that her heart was beating wildly again. She then glanced at the packaging next to her bed, the gift from Yuta.
She reached out for it and opened it, trying to find a distraction to calm herself down before she go out with him. Seora couldn't understand the feelings she had whenever with him. She kept telling herself to push it away but after a while, it was starting to bug her, especially after they almost kissed.
The gift revealed to be the dress she eyed before when she bought the gifts for everyone else. The red medieval dress, it certainly looked like something she would wear back in the palace. It was beautiful, she put it on top of her and looked at her reflection, it would fit her well.
However, she felt bad the fact that he bought it for her. "If you want to repay me for it, you better be at the festival tomorrow night." Seora chuckled lightly, he was a sneaky man indeed.
