Jaehyun was stopped by the palace guards who were looking after the entrance to the prince's chamber. Usually, his doors wasn't as strict as this. However, as Doyoung and the prince had been discussing some confidential issues, they figured out it was best to stay safe.
As the guard was allowed to enter, he noticed that the prince was all by himself. Doyoung was nowhere in sight. Jaehyun had noticed how these two were getting busier by day and he had a hunch they must be scheming against the queen. If so, he's at ease to join forces with them.
The male bowed down to the prince before starting to explain. "The princess," he paused. He thought about it so many times before, it was a risk, he might put an end to their hiding, but her safety was far more important.
"—is alive."
Taeyong tried to mask his interest, he tried to pretend he was not surprised as if he heard this rumour before. However, he knew himself that this man in front of him had proof, and he was somehow afraid that his words might be true.
He had difficulties moving on after seeing a glimpse of her at the festival and now a new puzzle piece is coming in light, he didn't want to wait. He hated the long seconds ticking by.
The prince had both of his elbows on the table, as he stared at the guard. "Saying such things, you can be executed for false rumours." He warned, trying to intimidate the man, in hope he might be lying.
Jaehyun stared down for a moment, before he looked up to meet the superior's eyes. "Her Highness, I helped her escape and hid her away." He admitted, he hoped the prince could see that he was telling the truth.
Taeyong was silent for a while, he tried to think of a correct question to ask. Something that would lead him to more open doors to finally bring the princess back.
"Where?" He asked, he put his hands down. "I cannot tell you, your Highness." Jaehyun bowed out of guilt. "Then, why have you come forward?" Taeyong asked, this time he stood from his seat.
"She's in danger." He said. Though Taeyong knew she would be, but he thought this might be even serious. Someone else must've known her location for her personal bodyguard to be concern even when she was in hiding.
The prince was silent, he wanted to hear the full story before he came to a conclusion. Jaehyun said nothing further as he was afraid he might make mistakes, instead he took out the piece of cloth he found at the princess' chambers before.
"On the day of the festival, someone sneaked into her Highness' chambers, he dropped this." He said as he handed it to the prince. "That symbol," Jaehyun paused for a while, he hoped he made the right decision. "is a threat." He added.
"I've seen it around the princess too often, it worries me that I might be dealing with something out of my league." Jaehyun explained. "As much as I promised to leave her on her own, I promised the king to take care of his only heiress." He said.
"I do not ask for you to interfere, but if I fail to protect her— I, plead for you to keep her safe." Jaehyun bowed deeply. He couldn't risk the princess life at all, he owed her that much.
The prince took his time to examine the symbol. He had never seen it before, but there was something about it that seemed so familiar. He held it securely in his possession.
"I promise." He said.

"Have you get it done?"
The queen asked as she fiddled with the cup in front of her. "Yes, your Majesty." The male bowed his head slightly. "I've made it clear to him, you should be expecting brief results." The male said.
The woman flashed a sinister smile, she was contented to hear it. At least, one of her worries had been lightened.
"This throne is so tiring," she exclaimed, the smile never left her face. "I'll be able to rest only after my princess gets to sit on it." She stated. "There's nothing to worry about, my queen. The place is rightfully hers." The man replied delightfully.
"Just remember that I'll be set free after this." He said, reminding their deal. "Of course, I am a woman of my words." The queen reassured.
Out of the blue, both of them could hear footsteps rushing outside the chambers. They could hear distinct urgent whispers of the maids, and the guards all running to one location.
However, the two remained calm. "Ah, I see it's getting done quicker than expected." The queen exclaimed. "I told you to trust me." The male replied.
