For the umpteenth time, Taeyong reread the letter from the princess. At times he wondered what she was trying to tell him, at times he tried to put himself in her shoes, and at very seldom times, he imagined her solely.
His heart was longing for her, he wanted to make sure himself that she was safe. The one look he caught during the festival made him realise that she must've been there for a reason.
Out of the blue, he heard a knock on his door and quickly, he hid the letter and pretended to be busy writing. As expected, Doyoung walked in as he bowed slightly towards the upcoming king.
Taeyong didn't need to ask, he knew Doyoung had yet failed to locate her again. He saw it coming, but he was still disappointed.
"The noblemen lost them as well, they could only manage to find their horse, other than that we know nothing."
Doyoung said, he noticed the prince avoided his gaze. He didn't want to show any sadness. He pitied the prince on how he lost the princess, but at the same time he admired the determination of the royal blood, the prince never once gave up.
"I see," Taeyong replied soullessly. "We're back to square one then." He said and stood, walking towards the balcony of the chamber. Taeyong stared outside for a moment, specifically the village at the outskirts of town.
He knew somehow she might be there, even after numerous failure to locate her, he'd always ended up searching for her inside the kingdom. He knew that one fine day, the princess would return. He knew her well enough that she wasn't truly ready to leave everything behind.

Seora left early that morning, it was way before Youngmi and Jaehyun wake up. She found herself rushing to Yuta's place. Why so, it was because she couldn't risk having him to pick her up, not after what Jaehyun and her saw last night.
As she arrived, she thought about knocking. However, she heard hustling sounds coming from the backside of his house. As curious as she was, she decided to give it a look.
The princess recalled the first time she had been here, the unknown small room she had seen before was still there, and curiosity got the best of her again. Seora checked her surroundings, to ensure Yuta was nowhere around.
It was unethical for her to check around the places without his permission, but after what she witnessed last night, she couldn't help the spark of curiousness in her. There must be something about him that she didn't know of.
However, as she got nearer, she realised the door was slightly opened. Therefore, she assumed it was a sign for her to continue checking, maybe Yuta was inside.
Shockingly, as she was about to enter, a whole different person emerged from the room.
"Jaehyun?!"
The princess' voice was slightly raised, she wasn't angry, she was confused and surprised of his presence. "Your Highness." He bowed his head slightly, but he was flustered that his secret mission of his own were busted by the princess.
Being a bodyguard, he had always done background checking to ensure the people around the princess are safe for her to mingle. Though she made him promise to let her be on her own, Jaehyun knew he couldn't do that. He wanted to do at least, a background check on Yuta, to ensure that the princess is left unharmed in his presence.
"Why are you— what are you doing here?" She asked, her arms crossed. However, Jaehyun shut the door behind him, preventing the princess from peeking inside. She could tell he had something in his hand, as he was hiding it from her.
"What do you have there?" She asked, the male kept calm. "Nothing." He replied, they both knew it was a lie. "Jaehyun, give it back." Seora ordered. "He's harmless." She tried to reason. "I take your word for it, Your Highness." He said politely.
"However, allow me to do this on behalf of your father." He bravely brought up the king. Jaehyun had always been in debt of her father as he was the one who offered him a job after being fond over his treatment back when the king visited their village.
Seora was stunned, she knew there was no use talking him out of this. "You— you have to stop doing this. I told you to let me live on my own, I need to learn how to survive—" the two of them heard the front door opening.
In a swift, Jaehyun tried to pull the princess with him to hide, but Seora stopped him. "You go." She said and gave him a reassuring look before she headed towards the front door.
Jaehyun was hesitant to leave at first, but he was also in a rush as he needed to return to the palace. He need to seek help from the prince, he couldn't tell the princess as he knew she was in danger. He had proof, Yuta wasn't who he said he was.

"Yuta!"
At the call of his name, the male turned around with a surprise, to find the girl of his life walking towards him. He was confused as to why she was here. However, he didn't get to satisfy his curiosity as the girl suddenly embraced him, resting her head on his chest.
Yuta was more than glad to wrap his arms around her, though he still wondered why this was happening. "Is everything alright?" He asked softly. Seora nodded her head against his chest. She had many reasons to hold him.
She was thankful for having him by her side, he contributed a lot and she often felt in debt towards him. She was also stalling time for Jaehyun to escape, as well as avoiding the topic of what she was doing at the back of his house. Also, she had been longing to hug him as she felt so restless last night.
After a while, she leaned back to look on him, to find him looking downwards at her as well. "Let's get going." She pulled away from the hug, however Yuta was quick enough to pull her back.
"I want to stay longer." He said, as he rested his head on top of hers. "We're going to be late." She muttered underneath, nonetheless, she kept her hands still around his waist. "Alright then." He finally broke the hug. Seora walked first but he pulled her back lightly, as he took a firm hold of her hand.
She smiled softly at his gesture before following his steps. Seora had been anticipating for him to tell her about any random things like he'd always do. She silently hoped for him to tell her about what she saw last night, and she would pretend to be surprise. However, that topic never came.
It only made her more curious. Yuta used to tell her everything as she wasn't the type to talk, but now she was even doubting if he had ever told her everything that he has been going through.
Then again, she knew she had no rights to force him to tell her. Everyone has secrets and that doesn't exclude both of them. Secretly, she hoped for Jaehyun to be able to explain to her about what might be happening to them.
