Seora waited all by herself at the library as Yuta seemed to have wandered off to somewhere else. He wouldn't tell her.
It came to a point where the day became too dull for her to bear, of course she had people to tend to but most of them were just quietly reading, only a few came to actually buy things.
As she was busy thinking what she should do in the mean time, she heard a slight commotion going through outside the library.
Of course, who wouldn't feel intrigued by it? However, she knew she couldn't leave the place. So, she kept the curiosity to herself. Unfortunately, the sound of people chattering were getting out of hand, and it wasn't supposed to be so as this was the library anyway.
Thus, the princess decided to step out and calm the fire down.
"Excuse me, but the all the commotion is bothering the people inside." She smiled small to the people gathered. The locals bowed slightly out of apology. Though Seora wanted to know what they were talking about, she had her ego to not ask.
"Is the King really gone?"
At the question, she felt as if the whole world stopped. Seora halted on her tracks, her body stiffened. It felt as if her heart stopped too and she was certain she had difficulties breathing.
She turned around slowly. "What did you just say?" She asked, tried not to shake. Some of them were startled to find that she was still standing there. "Oh, the King." One of them voiced.
"We heard from the palace guards that he was in critical condition, and that he passed away just now." He said, and that was it. Seora couldn't contain it anymore.
Her eyes started to water and instantly, she ran towards the palace. She pushed pass a lot of people and she didn't care if people were staring at her.
The palace's entrance was open, it was for the people on duty to deliver their stocks in the palace. It seemed to be a small luck for her, and Seora used this chance to push pass through the entrance.
She knew how to run, and she could do it well. The guards were certainly startled by the sudden break in, and they went after her instantly. However, Seora knew the palace better than anyone else.
A sharp turn was the next thing she did and she went through the garden. She tried to end the commotion she created but she only realised more were chasing after her.
The princess wiped her tears roughly with one hand as she proceeded to escape and as she ran through an open space, she found herself caught in someone else's arms.
Seora leaned back, her arms up in defence to release herself. However, the man kept her tight in his embrace.
"Your Highness, please don't move." He spoke which calmed her down when she knew who it was. Jaehyun raised a hand for the guards to stop chasing after her and signalled them that he would handle her.
He had to keep her face hidden as it was risky enough that she was already standing in the palace's compound.
As he kept an eye to the surroundings,he brought her somewhere further from anyone else's watch. The only safe place nearby he could take her, "Your High—"
