Annabeth was tired of having to explain the connections between the different gods to Percy. She loved him, but sometimes his lack of common sense was tiring.
"You're literally part god, Percy! Why don't you know these things by now?" Annabeth asked him after he asked a particularly dumb question.
Percy shrugged. "Do you expect me to remember several millennia of godly history and their connections to one another?"
Annabeth contemplated this. "I guess not. You can barely remember to shower sometimes."
"Hey, I always- Whatever. You get my point, though, right?"
Later that night, Annabeth thought about hers and Percy's conversation. Percy was still a Seaweed Brain, but what he said rang true. May people didn't know much about the gods or their origins. There were just too many years of history to cover. So, Annabeth being Annabeth, decided to do something about it.
Annabeth interviewed the most knowledgeable people she could find. Chiron, of course, other Athena campers, and even some minor gods that were willing to take the time to educate her on their pasts and what they knew about other gods.
It took time, but Annabeth combined her knowledge with that of the people she spoke to and organized the information in chronological order. She went back and added small details and other bits of information she felt were necessary for the reader to know.
Finally, after months of hard work and organizing, she printed her work. She presented her freshly-published book to Percy.
"I expect you to have this read within the next month."
Annabeth walked away quickly. Percy flipped the heavy book in his hands toward him and attempted to read the title. He read it as " Green Dogs with Gummies" and decided to scan over the cover one more time. After a moment, he realized the title of the book was "Greek Gods for Dummies."
