I woke up to Lux, my calico cat, sitting on my chest and clawing at my hair. I shove him off, bury myself deeper into my covers, and continue ignoring the outside world. 30 minutes had passed before I shoved the covers off and stumbled out of bed.

I face plant; tripping over last night's clothes. Today was the day that we would be revealing the new art for the gallery at school. With my piece as the main focal point. I'm so excited for everyone to see what I've been working on and hopefully it'll be bought. Although it's not like I need the money.

Walking into my closet, I pull on a pair of ripped boyfriend jeans, a red and black striped sweater, and my docs. All while shaking out my hair to make it presentable. I then gathered my books, my laptop, wallet and picked up Lux; carrying him downstairs as I head out the door to my blue Chevy Traverse.

I looked back to make sure all my art supplies were secured before I pulled out of the driveway and made my way towards the college art gallery, Dark Paradise by Lana Del Rey playing on the radio per usual since my 20th Birthday. It's become a constant that i don't quite mind. I pulled into the lot and parked by the time I got there, my teacher and the director of the gallery were directing workers on where to place objects so that my piece stood out as the focal point.

The painting was something I had been working on for the longest. It depicted five girls holding hands around a fire. Eyes closed each radiating a different color that has flowed into the fire creating an ethereal look, as they are each surrounded by different elements. It was beautiful and daunting as if it meant something more to me that I couldn't quite grasp just yet.

Once we got everything set up I told Mrs. Golden I would be back later tonight for the big reveal. I gathered Lux and headed over to Dreambite for a little lunch because I was starving. I walked in and noticed Maia talking to some girls near the window before she made her way over to me at the counter.

"Hey Picasso, how's the art show coming along." Maia asked as she began to make me a caramel iced coffee with a double shot of espresso.

"It's really coming along I'm excited for people to see what I've been working, and hopefully people will take me more serious." i told her grabbing the drink she handed me.

"Well I, for one, am excited to see what you have been working on. But anyways what do you want for lunch today love?" she asked as she began to make another order

"Yeah can I have a chicken sandwich with everything on it and a side of fries- " I stated before I heard someone clearing their throat.

[And what about me you selfish human] Lux stated in an angry tone "and Lux will take a tuna sandwich with nothing but the tuna please."

"Sure thing love, you headed to your spot?" she asks after writing down my order.

"Yeah I'm just gonna chill, maybe even do some doodling." I tell her as I move from the counter.

Just as I'm walking to my table two small animals run past me, one a rabbit and the other a fennec fox, their owners not that far behind. Just as I look up to move out the way a girl dressed in overall shorts runs into me causing me to spill my coffee all over myself as the other girl to landed on top of her.

Rubbing her backside, the purple haired girl gets up and profusely apologizes for the both of them, the girl in overalls throwing a shy sorry as well. I tell them it's fine even though it isn't before walking into the bathroom slamming the door into someone.
