Amanda's POV
It's the first day of school!!! I woke up at 5:00, and school starts at 7:45. I put on my mint green floral dress and brown belt which I matched with my brown fringe boots. I left my hair in its natural wavy curl and braided a piece over the top then put on some light makeup.
I glanced at the clock; it was 6:00 I still had have an hour to kill.
I looked around for something to do when I spotted my phone. I decided to call my dad. We'd been playing phone tag for the past 4 weeks so I hadn't been able to talk to him since my first night here right after I'd met MUAMETGTP (most undeniably attractive man ever to grace this planet) or MUAM, pronounced moo- ah-m, as Brielle and I liked to call him.
I met Brielle when her and her family had come to our house the day after Kyle or MUAM had stayed for dinner. We had talked all night and had been inseparable since. Two days later I had told her about Kyle, who I'd learned was her twin Bryson's close friend, and how we almost kissed like an hour after meeting each other and we decided we needed a code name for him. She knew I was half in love with him even though I'd only seen him once.
I tried to call my dad, and he picked up on the third ring.
"Hello Amy." Dad said
"Daddy!" I squealed. " I've tried to call you like 29 times!!!" I'd really only tried six, but who was counting?
"I tied getting a hold of you too sweetie." He said with a chuckle.
"Today's my first day of school!" I squealed excitedly.
"Don't talk to boys or look at boys and don't let them look at you." He said seriously. "And never go anywhere alone and don't stay up to late and make sure to always have your phone and some extra money with you. Oh and do you still have that pepper spray I gave you?" He asked.
"Breathe daddy, I'll be fine." I said avoiding his final question. He was so overprotective sometimes. I had gone to a private all girls school when I lived with him, so he wasn't used to the idea of me being trapped in the same building as a couple hundred hormonal teenage boys for 8 hours a day, and quite frankly, neither was I.
"Alright, stay safe though." He cautioned.
"I will."
We continued to talk for another 20ish minutes. I told him about Brielle and Bryson. I briefly mentioned Kyle, but I didn't really have much to say about him. He told me about this big deal he was about to land in work and he tried to tell me about his wife Kyla, but I quickly changed the subject every time. We talked until I heard my mom calling from downstairs.
"Breakfast." She called.
"Coming." I yelled back, "I've got to go, love you daddy."
"Love you too Amy." He said before hanging up.
After breakfast I ran upstairs to brush my teeth and grab my backpack. It was only 7:20, so I set my backpack down and started playing the grand piano my mom kept on the balcony above the living room.
I pulled out Prelude in G minor by Rachmaninoff and started to play. I had been playing piano since I was 5 and only stopped taking lessons when I moved. I still practiced though. I'd been working on my Rachmaninoff price for just under 3 months and I almost had it all learned.
