"Hey guys, how are y'all doing tonight?" I asked into my mic, to be greeted with a loud cheer from my large audience. I was currently playing a show at Wembley stadium and the crowd was sold out.
"Well anyway, I'm Skylar Blue and thanks for coming out, I love you guys and hope you enjoy it!" I smiled as I took my position on the stage.
"I was riding shotgun
With my hair undone
In the front seat of his car
He's got a one-hand feel
On the steering wheel
The other on my heart,"
I began to sing 'Our Song' (A/n: I do not own this song, this is by Taylor Swift)
"I look around, turn the radio down
He says, "Baby is something wrong?"
I say, "Nothing,
I was just thinking
How we don't have a song"
And he says...
Our song is the slamming screen door,
Sneakin' out late, tapping on your window
When we're on the phone and you talk real slow
'cause it's late and your mama don't know
Our song is the way you laugh
The first date: "Man, I didn't kiss her, when I should have"
And when I got home ... 'fore I said amen
Asking God if he could play it again"
Once I had finished the song, I began to speak into my microphone.
"So, as a lot of you guys know, that song was was about my boyfriend Ashton Irwin, from the band 5 Seconds Of Summer." I paused as the stadium broke out into screams and cheers and I smiled at the reaction.
"Anyway, I'm gonna tell y'all a story about why I wrote that song for us.
So, me and Ashton are still young, so we are quite rebellious as not a lot of you know." I laughed and the audience laughed too.
"We would always be sneaking out to each others houses in the middle of the night, just to cuddle and talk. Then other nights, we would spend hours on the phone, but we would have to be super quite because our parents didn't know. And then we went on our first date and we didn't kiss, and it turned out we both wished we had." I laughed, still smiling.
"Then, one day, Me and Ashton were in his car and a song I recognised as mine and my Ex's song came on the radio. I actually cringed hearing it, and that's when I realised, we didn't have a song! So I turned the radio down and asked him what our song was and he said our song was 'the slamming screen door, sneaking out late, tapping on your window, when were on the phone and you talk real slow, cause it's late and your mamma don't know, our song is the way you laugh, first date when I didn't kiss ya and I should have.' So yeah, that's how I wrote that song."
The audience all cheered and screamed.
"Okay now I just want to slow things down and talk to y'all." I smiled sitting on a stool that had been brought on stage.
"Listen guys, people are going to tell you who you can and can't love. That's their opinion, they have every right to say what they think. But to be honest you shouldn't listen to them, if they think you shouldn't be with someone, that's what they think, but in love, if the two are happy together, nothing else matters." I began to tear up at my own words.
