It was the 12th of December, my birthday and I was turning 18. Finally. I was currently at my birthday party my parent had thrown me. You see, my parents are rich, so they decided to throw me a party, despite my wishes to go to a club with my friends, no, instead they threw me an exclusive invite only party, which they basically invited all their posh friends and none of mine, like I thought this was my party?

I did get to invite 4 friends though, so I did, I invited Luke, Calum, and Ashton, but most importantly, I invited my boyfriend Michael. My parents didn't approve of the guys since they

1) "dropped out of school"

2) "are never there when I need them since they are usually on tour"

And 3) "are too 'punk and street' for me." If only they knew me, if they listened to me then they would know I like the same music, dress the same and also want to be a singer since the boys are forever telling me I have an amazing voice. But I guess I gotta suck it up for one more night before I move out and start to figure out how to get discovered.

I was sitting in the corner of the room, in my party dress my parents basically had to force me into wearing, my red lipstick and my killer heels. Erugh! Can this night be over yet? The boys were here, well Luke, Calum and Ashton were but Mikey was no where to be found.

I was slightly annoyed Mikey was late, my parents, family and everyone else was expecting him and he needed to make a good impression. I was staring at the door, waiting for Mikey to burst through it, with that cheesy grin on his face and the usual glimmer in his eyes he got when he saw me, but it wasn't seeming to come anytime soon. I sighed and looked at the clock on the wall, he was already and hour and 15 minutes late.

I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see two of my parents stuck up friends, an old couple. I rolled my eyes, standing up to greet them, a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"So Taylor, how have you been?" The woman, I think her name was Cecilia and her husband was Jasper but I wasn't 100% sure.

"I'm okay, what about you?" I replied politely, sucking up the urge to punch them both in the face and storm up to my bedroom.

"Were okay, are you having a nice time darling?" She continued, literally speaking as slow as she could, I thought it was to annoy me but she was elderly so it was probably the fact she could barely remember what she was trying to say. The conversation continued and all I found myself thinking of was michael and how he promised he would be here. Eventually, they spotted another elderly couple and shuffled off to start a deadly boring conversation with them.

I sat down and thought about my life right now and what was actually going on, here I was, sitting in my party dress, my hair pin straight down my back, my red lipstick staining my lips, yet with no one to impress. I sighed and slumped back against my chair, a bored expression taking over my face. I looked around the room, everyone laughing, making conversation and generally having a good time, but for me there was one extremely important thing missing, my boyfriend. It was in this moment that I knew, our relationship was crumbling in the palm of our hands and there was nothing either of us could do to stop it...

Hour passed by and the boys joined me in the corner, not interacting or anything really, just occasionally sharing worried glances. I looked at the clock for the millionth time that night and tears stung my eyes as I stood up, deciding that I just wanted to be alone. The boys must have noticed something was wrong, because they followed me up the stairs and down the hall, before I locked myself in the bathroom, tears spilling down my cheeks as I tried not to fall apart. I cried, leaning against the door, my arm crossed over my chest, hugging myself as I sunk to the floor, crying even more.
