Rain was on his way to lunch, when he saw the new kid, Kit, standing against a wall, with another guy standing close to him. Rain cocked his head. It didn't look too friendly. Or rather, it looked too friendly, but one sided. Kit had joined their table with his brother a few times, and Rain felt a surge of anger. He jogged over just in time to hear the wheedling voice from the bigger guy.

"You'll like me, just give me a chance. How about a kiss."

"I said no, Tick, there's already someone I like," Kit was saying, trying to pull away, but the bigger guy held his arms.

"Hey, leave Kit alone!" Rain said, and pushed the would be lover away. Kit looked relieved, and snuggled into Rain's side gratefully. Without realising what he was doing, Rain stroked his hair soothingly.

"What, are you Kit's boyfriend?" Tick asked.

"No comment," Rain said, on autopilot. It's what he always said when asked about the girls he was with, and Rain realised only then that it could be misunderstood. Tick left in a huff, and Rain turned to Kit to push him away, but saw a fat tear rolling down his cheek.

"I'm so tired, Rain. There's so many of them, always bothering me. Why won't they leave me alone?"

This sparked something in Rain. Now that he was between girlfriends, so to speak, he didn't get a moment of peace himself. It was only when he was at the Gay Table that the love struck girls left him alone. Their table had a reputation for not being kind to anyone who butted in, so few bothered them there.

"I know what you mean. Some attention is nice, of course, but it's been a bit much for me, too, lately."

"It's different for me. You're bigger and stronger than the girls..."

Rain sighed and pulls Kit into a proper hug. "Poor puppy." Kit lit up, and as Rain patted his head, he noticed the school's biggest fujoshi looking at them with glee, and had an idea.

"You know, we could help each other out," Rain said, pulling away from Kit's hug. He wiped Kit's tears away gently.

"What do you mean?"

"I think word is going to get out about this. What I said, the hug... people will jump into conclusions. So why not use it?"

"Huh?"

"The 'no comment' comment I said just now to that asshole? That's what I say when people get nosy about my relationships. People are going to think we're a couple, so why not let them?"

Kit's sputtered. "You wouldn't mind... with me..?"

"I'm into girls, Kit, but I don't much care about what other people say about me. So, what do you say?"

"Yes!" Kit said, before Rain had even finished his sentence. His face had clouded when Rain said he was into girls, but this was a chance to get closer to the handsome boy.
