Chapter 5 - Runaway Thieves Part 8

Rantaro continues running as fast he could while his life is being chased after by the villains.

Rantaro looks around and smirks as he runs to the right direction as the group continues pursuing him.
"Hehe," Rantaro chuckled quietly as he purposely goes up to a dead end.
"Ha! We got you now, villain!" Masaru mocked him as Rantaro smirks and turns around as he puts his hands on the air.
"... Are you really sure about that?" Rantaro chuckled.
"... Huh?" Masaru muttered.

Suddenly, Kaede throws a spear at one dark mage through the stomach, instantly killing her.
"Wha-"
"It's a ambush!" Maki shouted as she grabs the young mercenary as a wing attack blasts at one of the fighters, knocking him out.

She quickly takes out her sword as she points it at Shuichi.
"... Do you want to die?" Maki asked with a hostile tone.
"... Oh no..." Shuichi gulped as he slowly takes a few steps back.

Maki glares as she charges at Shuichi, much to his fear.
"AHHH!" Shuichi screamed as he trips and Kaito blocks her attack, "Kaito!"
"Got this, man!" Kaito replied as he manages to knock her sword with his spear.

Maki growls as she takes out a knife and stabs Kaito's knee.
"Ah!" Kaito shouted.
"No!" Shuichi screamed.

Masaru takes his sword along with his remaining men. Maki quickly grabs her sword and just before she swings her blade to kill Kaito.

Kirumi throws a dagger at Mali's shoulder, causing her to accidentally drop her sword just before the finishing blow.

Angie rushes to Kaito and uses her healing magic to heal his wound.
"Thanks, Angie," Kaito thanked her.
"Do not thank me," Angie told him, "Thank Atua for lending me his power,"
"Yeah... sure," Kaito replied.

"I... I'm not scared!" Masaru proclaimed as he readies his blade, "I-I'll kill you all! F-for big sis Junko!"

"I'm sorry, what did you say?" Kokichi asked as he slashes the back of another one of the dark mages with his rapier.
"I... I..." Masaru muttered, "N-no... I-I'm not scared! I'm not scared! I'm a future hero! I know I will!"

Masaru looks around and noticed all of his men are running away, except Maki, who is held down to the ground by Kirumi.
"... Grr..." Masaru growled as he quickly runs away.
"Not so bad!" Kaede shouted as she throws a spear at Masaru, but a dark blast strikes at the spear. "Wha-What the?!"

Suddenly, a dark portal was created and a small, blue-haired boy wearing the dark mage uniform comes out.
"Masaru, get here, now!" The boy told him off.
"Nagisa!" Masaru said as he rushes to the portal without any hesitation.
"..." Nagisa takes a glance as he shoots dark magic at Kokichi before he leaves.

"Master!" Kirumi screamed as she runs towards Kokichi and takes the hit for him, "Ahhh!"
"K-Kirumi!" Everyone screamed.
"I got this!" Angie announced as she rushes to Kirumi and starts healing her.
"Ugh..." Kirumi groaned.

While everyone is distracted, Maki takes out her knife and throws her knife at Kokichi's shoulder successfully.
"Ahh!" Kokichi screamed.
"Kokichi!" Shuichi screamed in shock as he takes out his green book and shoots out a wind attack at the attack.
"Ahh!" Maki screamed as she flies into a tree and gets knocked out while making her wound worse.

"Ugh..." Kokichi groaned in pain.
"I got it!" Angie shouted as she finishes Kirumi's wound, which is a minor injury now, and starts killing his wound next.
"Now... time to get some answers out of her..." Kirumi said.
"Yeah..." Kaito agreed with her.
