We were on our way to the plane to go back to the Philippines. I sat between Dj and Quen. It's kinda awkward though. Dj is listening music in his ipod, Quen is playing in his iphone and I am thinking of the things I should do when I'll go back to the Phil. Minutes kater, Dj fell asleep. I looked at the game Quen was playing, it looked like ut was fun. So I asked him, "Ano na game yan Quen?"
"Monster Shooter. Gusto mo maglaro?" He lent me his iphone and I accepted it.
At first, I kept on dying because I didn't know what to press for my character to be able to shoot the aliens. I tried again but still failed.
"Gusto mo turuan kita?" Quen asked.
"Uhm, please?" I replied.
Hinawak niya ang kamay ko and he lead my thumb to the button to be pressed. Somehow I felt a spark there. Damn. I played again. Fortunately, I killed an alien. We both laughed but made sure not to disturb Dj. Throughout the flight, we played Quen's iphone and compare on who's better than the other. Obviously, he won all the games we played. He's really good, I gotta admit that.
As the plane landed, I woke Dj up and we prepared our things. I got of the plane and I was walking fast because I was so excited to meet my family. Cameras were flashing at Dj and I, but I didn't care. Then, a smile was plastered on my face as I laid my eyes on my family. I ran to them and hugged my mom first. Dj was welcomed by his mom too. I told my mom about all the things that amazed me in Korea. Then we rode our van home. As we were nearing the exit of the airport, I saw Quen standing alone in the parking lot. Maybe he was waiting for someone. I wanted to go to him but we already got out of the airport. I felt bad for not doing so. I wonder who he was waiting for. I decided to call him.
"Quen, san ka?" Even though I know where he is, I still asked him.
"Nasa parking lot ng airport. Hinihintay ko lang si mommy, medyo traffic daw kasi." He said.
" Ah, san na si mommy mo?"
"Paalis pa ng bahay."
"Ha? Ano? Paalis pa ng bahay? Hindi ka mapapagod maghintay?" Nako, traffic pa naman.
"Ok lang ako dito."
"Ah sige. Bye bye."
"Bye Kath."
I hung up and placed my phone in my pocket.
"Sino yun?" tanong ni mommy.
"Si Quen po."
Medyo nag-aalala ako para kay Quen. Malayo ang airport sa kanilang bahay tapos traffic pa! Baka pagkatapos pa ng ilang oras pa masusundo si Quen. Baka mag-isa nalang siya uuwi, tapos uulan. Baka magkakasakit siya.
I felt my phone ring and saw that Dj was calling me.
"Hello Dj?"
"Kath, dito tayo sa bahay magdinner mamaya. Ok ba?"
"Sure. Kita tayo diyan by 7. Pwede be isama ko sina mommy at mga kapatid ko?"
"Oo naman."
"O sige sige. Bye"
"Bye"
I checked my phone again to see if Quen texted me. Nothing.
"Sino na naman yun?" tanong ni mama.
"Si Dj. Dun po pala daw tayo magdinner sa bahay nila." I said.
"Ah, ok ok."
We reached the house by 5pm. Nag-ayos lang ako ng gamit then I prepared to go to Dj's house. My phone rang and I saw that it was Quen's mom calling me.
"Hellp po tita?" Bakit kaya niya ako tatawagan?
"Kath, nakita mo ba si Quen? I was at the airport kanina pero I didn't see him."
"Po?! Hindo ko po siya nakita."
"Ah ganun ba. Baka nauna na siyang nauwi. Kath, I gotta go, i've got lot of errands to do, bye."
"Bye po."
I called Quen but no answer... (After 10 mins.) I called for the 30th thime but still no answer.
Damn!!! San si Quen?!! Baka nasa airport pa siya. Pupunta ako doon. I wore my shoes and grabbed my bag and ran to the door.
"Kath, san ka pupunta? Akala ko pupunta tayo kina Dj?" sabi ng aking kuya.
"Kuya, may kailangan akong puntahan, importante talaga. Pero hahabol ako sa dinner mamaya. Please pakisabi nalang din kay mama." I ran to him and gave him a peck in the cheek.
I asked our driver, Mr. John to drive me in the airport. Minutes later we were in the road. Ano ba naman toh, traffic. Mga 40 mins na kami nasa kalsada. Shoot, umuulan pa! Quen, nasaan ka kasi?!! I called him again and he answered. Thank heavens!
"Quen nasaan ka ba?!" I shouted.
"Airport...." He sounded like he.. I couldn't explain but the next thing I knew, I was running. Quen, malapit na talaga ako.
I reached the airport and searched for him in the parking lot. He wasn't there. I went inside but couldn't find him. Then I saw his baggage in a corner. I ran to it and saw him on the side, sitting. He had his hood covering his head. As I got nearer and got a better look at his face, I started crying.
