There's a shadow. Next to me.
I have no idea where I am, nor do I know how I got here. I wondered the strange yet beautiful garden. One thing is way too odd, though. there's a shadow of a man, but no man stood by me. The shadow next to me, seems so. . . Determined. Determined to keep up with me, and place his shadowed hand onto mine. It's odd, yet I feel safer when it occurs.
Suddenly, the shadow walks away, I'm left alone. For some reason, I start to run in a direction, any direction, just looking for that shadow again. Then I see him.
The shadow against the vines that make a tall wall, and suddenly he heads straight into them. I head towards that direction, and yank the vines open. . .
   "Mei!"
I jump up from my bed, and see my mother with her arms crossed.
"You woke up late! Didn't I tell you to set an alarm for today? It's your first day of university! You crazy girl! Get up and get ready!"
My eyes widen when I realize what today is.
It's my first day of university! Oh my God! What do I wear? What style is okay to wear?
When my mama leaves, I run straight towards the closet and start yanking something, anything, that looks cute.
Now, usually I don't care about what I wear, but on first days of anything, I like to look good. I pulled out a sun dress and decided that it didn't look too flashy.
Once dressed, I gave a quick hug to my mother and went straight to the car with my luggage.
"What about breakfast, dear?!" She shouted as I got in and rolled the window down.
"It's alright mama! I'll just eat over there!" She nodded and waved goodbye.
The university I'm going to is close by, so I don't even have to move. Though I'm excited to move out from my Mama's place, now she wouldn't have to worry about taking care of me anymore. I'm very grateful that they accepted me, though. Chi-gyu University is one of the most talented universities in the world, only the most smartest people go there.
While driving there, I couldn't help but wonder what the dream had was even about. I then got a tingly feeling in the pit of my stomach, and for some reason wish I could go back to sleep and see that mysterious shadow again, and see what had been behind those vines in that non-existent garden. Why on Earth did I even have that dream? Was there some sort of sign inside of it? Maybe a long forgotten friend? Past crush? Or maybe it meant of bad luck, or happiness? Perhaps a warning?
There was something eye catching about the shadow. Though it was just a shadow, he left an aura of. . . Loneliness. He seemed so, what's the word? Desperate? The shadow had holes in the head that made cat looking eyes. They were mysterious, and seemed false. I don't believe those were his real eyes. They looked far too cruel. But for all I know, the shadow could have been a trick of the light.
The feeling I had made me come up with a good clarinet soothe song. At least, a few tunes for it. I'd have to write about it later. My major is music writing after all.
Soon, I pull up to the school, and I try not to ogle at the huge building covered with glass windows and gold tracings around it. To either the side of the main entrance was an image of a few buildings, the dorms, I'm sure.
I see people walking all over the campus, some laughing with friends, some looking for good reading spots, others on dates, and some running towards their late classes. I smiled brightly.
Well, here I go, time to start my future.
