Two weeks later, I was sitting under a tree in the courtyard with Taehyung, reading while I layed on his lap. I was reading aloud, so he could be entertained as well.
It was quiet and I enjoyed it. It was all very peaceful as we heard the birds sing and the occasional notification on our phones. The heat of the sun decreasing due to colder weather, unfortunately. Winter was coming, and I began to get worried.
I stopped reading and looked up at Taehyung. He looked at me with questioning eyebrows.
"Winter is near," I began, "I'm very vulnerable in the winter, what if I get a flu or something?"
He chuckled. "Where did this come from all of a sudden?"
I shrugged. "Just popped into my mind I guess."
He smiled. "Well, if you get sick, I'll stay and take care of you."
I frowned. "You need to stay in school, mister."
He pouted. "You need to be taken care of, missy." He crossed his arms and I sat up.
"Well, I think education is more important than a little coughing and a fever." I argued.
"Then you're wrong." He said simply, "As you've said to me about a month ago, it's stupid to not take care of yourself."
"You're right," I said with a smile. "Which is why I'll take care of myself."
His eyes widened and he jumped up. I laughed as he looked at me with mock anger.
"You know what I mean!" He shouted. The he paused and looked at the sky.
"It really is starting to get chilly isn't it?" He mumbled, looking at me with worrisome eyes. "Do you need to get something warm?"
"I can manage today." I told him with a smile. "It's not cold enough to effect me yet."
He nodded.
"The big competition in acting and singing is coming up. What do you plan on singing? It's only a week away." He asked me, sitting down next to me.
"Just something I made up." I said, "a duet, remember?"
Taehyung nodded. "I can still sing with you, right?" He asked, now a bit concerned.
I looked at him with soft eyes and replied gently. "Of course you can. The only reason I said that you wouldn't that night was because I was shocked about the kiss. I'll let you in on the day of."
He raised an eyebrow. "How will I know the tune and everything?"
I shrugged. "It's not that hard of a tune actually, I'll send you the notes. But lyrics stay with me for now."
He nodded.
"Mei," he Said after a few moments of silence.
"Hm?" I said, glancing at him. He looked at me with sad eyes.
"I'm ready to tell you about how I lost Rasha."
I looked at him, surprised. I had completely forgotten that the whole reason why I approached him was because I wanted to end his pain. Recently, he hadn't been showing any.
I looked into his sad eyes, guilt spilling over them, and I felt my heart go haywire.
I slowly nodded. He smiled a bit but his eyes did not match it. He looked to the side then back at me, and began telling the story about his lost love.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Taehyung had been hanging out with Rasha for the day. They went to a movie and ate some dinner, then they called it a night, he dropped her off and they waved their goodbye, then headed home.
On his way home, he began to think about his past. This wasn't at all what he'd expected he'd be going through.
Slight flashbacks occurred as he began to think too deep into the history he had with Rasha.
Tears filled his eyes as guilt rushed through him. He really wasn't in love with Rasha, he was in love with her. He let only a single tear slip as he thought about the aweful note he had received years ago, which was still kept in his wallet at all times.
". . .seems like you gave up on me. . ."
"No," he said to himself, now imagining a teary eyed little church girl.
"I found you."
"Why didn't you say something?!" He shouted at his windshield. "Why didn't you come to me?" He paused and staggered a breath. He harshly whispered, "Why didn't you ever stop me? I wouldn't be with her if you just stopped me!"
Suddenly he had to pull the breaks on his car. Eighteen year olds should pay close attention to the road, especially since they're not as experienced as mature people. He had thought this when a car beeped in front of him, signaling him to back up.
He pulled over to a rest stop by the highway until his imagination was done.
"We will meet again some day" he had told her, "we will see each other," he promised her.
". . .almost true. I saw you, but you didn't see me. . ."
"I'm sorry." Taehyung sniffled, letting the tears run down his cheeks. He didn't bother to hide his loud cries. He ignored everything around him and focused on the last time he heard her voice.
". . .Guess I chose the wrong day to wear the charm, huh. . .?"
"Yes," He replied back, resting his head on the wheel. "Yes, you did."
His phone suddenly rang. He looked at it and read an unknown number. He was confused and answered it, trying to calm himself.
"Do you want your precious first love?" Said a strange voice.
Taehyung froze, unsure of what to do.
"Who are you?" He finally spluttered out. The voice on the other side laughed.
"Call me a Uniter. I unite people together, all you need to do is hand me your little puppet of a girlfriend, and you can have your girl."
Taehyung wanted to automatically object. He still cared for Rasha, of course, there was no way he would give her up like that, without some sort of proof. Or assurance of Rasha's safety.
"Ah," Said the strange voice, as if reading his problems, "No need to be worried. Rasha would be happy to see me and the work I do. And if you want to see my face, then simply look to your left. I will not hide."
Taehyung's heart stopped. Was this guy next to him? He slowly and reluctantly looked to his left, and spotted a man in a truck a few parking spaces away.
The man waved and got out of his truck, Taehyung mimicked and they both met inside the rest-stop. He followed the man into a dark room somewhere.
His attire was rather flashy, and he was quite good looking, it bothered Taehyung a bit, considering that almost all bad people had the characteristics this man seemed to have.
The man turned around and seemed slightly amused while he loosened his collar a little.
